Once upon a time there was a foolish king named Cherry. She dreams to rule the world but is stuck being a doormat to a bunch of silly deer. Everyday she has to run errands for her villagers... from picking fruits to delivering items. Her best friend is a dog named Isabelle who also slaves her away. King Cherry is also in tons of debt from the mobster Nook. So everyday she's returning her debts by doing favors.
I am not creative enough for town histories and the like. ;_;
I have three characters I jump around on: my mayor, and two storage characters. Mayor Zero is too busy to go out for anything besides official town business and diplomatic relations with other towns. Alpha is similar in that he's a recluse who only goes out for... business. Beta actually goes out to talk to villagers and help them out. I play on Beta more often now because Zero's house is too cluttered with hoarder junk, and I don't have any mayoral duties to take care of really.
Zero's closest villager friend is Fang. Seriously, he's the only guy who ever drops in uninvited and he does it every single time I play on that character. *_* Pretty annoying tbh, but at the same time sweet I guess? I like to think Alpha and Whitney are relatively close, while Beta and Carmen are like bestest pals 4lyfe. Lolly was Chief's and Carmen's mutual friend; after Lolly moved away, Chief and Carmen have been hanging out and I think they're hanging out in honor of the close friend who brought them together and is no longer with them.
I like to imagine my mayor a slightly off-kilter, but generally likable prince. He's nice and everything, but there's always some sort of coup bubbling up because he tends to be inattentive or just none too bright in general. He has a few really loyal companions (one of which is oddly infatuated with him), who sort of hold his leash and make sure he doesn't do anything TOO bad. He thinks he's the baddest of the bad, and generally better than everyone else, even though people are just sort of- letting him think that.
Additionally, the Mayor has nothing to do with how things are run, and Isabelle actually takes care of most of it, if not all. She just sort of lets things happen and cleans up afterwards, knowing that any bad press will reflect on the Mayor and not on her, personally.
Lol. All this dramas. There's also Fortune, who's also kind of a bodyguard figure. She's way more willing to be mean to people, and generally tries to make sure everyone's behaving- because the Mayor's kind of a wimp.
I don't really have an entire backstory for my town, but there are little headcanons that I have about my villagers.
Like, Marshal and Poppy are always together, and he got me to stop her from moving away, so they might be a thing.
And back when I had Whitney and Lucky, Whitney would always talk about hanging out with Lucky, so they were best friends
And Cherry and Cheri don't interact much, but when they do talk to each other, they both end up angry or sad, so they might be mad because they have the same name and fur color or something
I do that all the time, with like every game I play. I write little backstories in my head as I play. It's even better when the characters have no mentions of a backstory or have amnesia. I don't have a story for my town yet, but I do ship my villagers as couples (Rosie x Peanut ftw) and as best friends.
I write stories in my head, as well. n_n I find it really fun.
I recently wrote a short story relating to the 16 villager cycle and another villagers point of view of it on my profile, blog entry.
I've been meaning to write some stories about my town, but I can never really find the motivation to sit down and actually do it :/ The only thing I know I really want to write about is my second player character, Gabriel. He was just named my middle name, but as a boy because sometimes I just feel like playing as a boy. However he quickly got a sort of personality of his own, starting with Rover's questions at the beginning - which I just picked according to which face I like the most. He doesn't know how often he's been to Tazmily, yet he's moving, and not because of a mysterious force, and I just really want to come up with a story or some circumstances to fit that. Also, due to me still wanting to dress up cutely even when I feel more like a boy, whenever I remake him (which I occasionally do to use the reset trick), when he tells Rover his name he has to say "cute, right?" and then correct him to say he's a boy. He's just not a "cool" kind of guy, but much prefers cute stuff.
I make backstories for my villagers based on information on the wiki. And I make stories up for my side characters, too!
For instance, I have a side character named Maru, who runs a little corner store, and is a disgruntled employee that's trying to pay off his student loans.
Don't have a specific backstory for my whole town, but I do have little ideas for my residents haha
Momo's a waitress/worker in the inn, and her only friends are the deers!! (seriously its odd how my deers are literally the only ppl who seem to like her and drop in unexpectedly lol...)
Shibe's a gung-ho student body president who always gets picked on for being annoying!! lol
my mayor Nana's a student with a crush on Shibe lol
and my newest resident Lapin is a mysterious foreign celebrity hehe
I haven't started working in my town yet since I'm waiting to get all of my dreamies to do so, but I'm planning in making my town so that it feels like something you'd find in the Pacific Northwest, where I live! Lots of evergreen trees, rocks, wooden things, clover, et cetera. I plan on making at least two side characters, but I've yet to think of stories for them or for my town... although I do want my town to feel supernatural!
