I'm not entirely sure myself. I mean, when it's night time and I've been reading too many creepypastas, I kind of get paranoid about things like that. I think I kind of do, but I guess I try not to believe 'too much' if that makes sense, lest I end up susceptible to getting hurt by anything with less than good intentions.
My own mum has had paranormal experiences. As far as I know, from what she's told me, she's encountered two (non-hostile) ghosts in her life; one was her neighbour who died earlier that day and she talked to him afterwards without realising it, and another was just a Victorian gentleman when she was in working in a children's home.
We also have a photograph of a ghostly figure, which was the last photo that was taken of my uncle before he died, there's an outline of an older woman standing behind him in the window. Although my Gran reckons that it's her own mum in the photo, and she was just getting ready to greet my uncle when he left us.
After my uncle died, soon after, some odd stuff happened according to my family. This could be coincidence of course, but he had said he didn't want anyone selling his car or doing anything with it. It did get sold, but it never started again, despite working beforehand. Also, he was diabetic, so he couldn't eat sweets often or anything like that, if I recall. When he did, my Aunt and her husband found all the chocolate bars in their pantry eaten. My own mum heard footsteps walking through our corridor, and she thought it was my dad, who was still married to her at the time. My dad, after arguing with my mum, heard my uncle calling his name. I think that's all of it.
According to my Aunt, she has seen the Owlman of Mawnan (a folklore legend from around where I live) with a friend of hers while she was driving. According to her, he was staring at her from a nearby field.
My mum's friend doesn't like coming over to visit; she says she gets weird vibes from our house and it scares her. I've never felt them and nor have any of my family members who live here. But it is odd.
I know it all sounds hard to believe. I find it hard to believe myself. But my family are honest people and they're not the type to make things up for laughs.
