Do you belive in ghost / the paranormal

That's what people refer to as purgatory, lookyhooky.
Most Christians do not believe in this. I will not get into a further discussion about it, just because religion has been a touchy subject on the forum in the past.

Well my mom must be a Christian who believes in purgatory. (GAAH got off topic)

Well what I do believe is that Speak and Spells are haunted. I had one when I was 7, even when I took the freaking batteries out, it still woke me up in the middle of the night. It would be like, "THE VOWELS ARE A E I O U TTIEFDKLMGTRVFD" and it also had this demonic voice like wtf I never touched that thing cause I was afraid of it. But still, that thing was full of win, the way that kids actually liked those. Or did they..

Yup. I mean, it's bad enough that I'm part athiest when I'm Christian and Jewish, but really? Ghosts can't and don't exist. It's really not possible. They'd go right through everything and are invisible, anyways.

How on earth.

When I was young and I was sleeping in my parents room,the door was a bit open.I saw this black shadow thing pass by.But I heard my parents talking downstairs.It was only them and me.No siblings.So scary ;~;

I don't believe in ghosts.

unless it's really super dark and scary late at night then the possibility seems a little more plausible

nah i dont
quite recently i asked myself what reason was there even to be afraid of the dark if such things don't exist.
and since then i can walk around my house in pitch black and the only thing i'll be afraid of is stubbing my toe or knocking something over.

I think I lot of you should watch The Afterlife Investigations, it would really give something to think about. Science actually has proven the afterlife and such to be real, through the rigorous use of the scientific method. Not all mediums are BS, a lot of them are, but not all...

Errr excuse me, where is this so called 'proof' that the afterlife is real? How could anyone possibly prove that, as none of us have died?
Edit: And yes, I know we can't disprove it either. No-one knows what happens after death.

There's plenty of it out there, you just have to research it.

Well I only research things from reliable sources. You can find 'proof' for pretty much anything, you just have to look on the right websites. So unless I see a reliable source saying the afterlife exists, I'm not buying it.

When I was really little after my great grandmother (grandmother's side) died my mom was working in the garden behind the house with me playing nearby. She felt a tap on her arm and turned around, asking what I wanted. She saw my great grandmother smiling at her for a split second, and then she was gone. My great grandmother used to enjoy gardening too.

My great grandfather on my grandfather's side died before I was born. In the house I'm sitting in right now. While growing up I would sit and would play video games at night. I always felt like someone was sitting in there watching me. One night when I was around 12 I was having trouble sleeping and I felt a presence enter my bedroom, which I always kept shut and locked at night. I was nervous. I had recently learned about my great grandfather's death not too long before that. I decided to talk to him and ask if he was the one watching me play games. I didn't get a response of course, but the presence suddenly left and I never felt like someone was watching me play games ever again after that. I was kind of sad about it, actually. I liked to think someone still enjoyed watching me play games after my brother got tired of hanging out with me.

So yeah, I do believe in ghosts. I also believe in magic (not the thunderbolts and fireballs or harry potter magic), faeries, and other such creatures.

I've seen shows on TV where people swear up and down, they have felt an invisible force touch them or push them. Or they hear people talking to them when no one is around. And then there's that Ghost Adventures show that really just makes me laugh with all their gadgets and stuff like that.

I guess even with all of that stuff, I won't believe in them until I experience something for myself. There may not be ghosts, but there are certainly some weird things that happen on this planet.

I don't believe in ghosts but now I'm afraid that I will come across one sometime after reading this thread but hopefully not.

Just so you guys know, science can prove anything that's not already proved if you want it too enough. Sure, science has successfully proved many things before, but if you make a hypothesis for questions like the afterlife, and you try to give sources that have evidence people have made up, you're still not proving it. And as much as you might dislike this next statement, even if you manage to prove it it's true that the more scientists have proved in the last hundred years the more it leads to religion. If you're an atheist, and you think it is 'cool' to believe in things like demons, then that's perfectly okay. But for places in real life and on the internet both to ban talk of religion, and state things like it doesn't prove more of the bible is absurd. There are so many things scientists can't prove and instead it proves the bible even more. If you don't believe me, or just want to argue with me, then PM me and I can PM you back with a couple of legit sources to prove my point. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion or religion when it comes to spirituality, so if you want to believe in more stuff like this and separate it from that, then go ahead. As for me, I live in one nation under god. Thank you very much.

I grew up in a secular family, and certainly none of us believes in demons ^^;

Actually, I believe in evil spirits masquerading as demons, but not demons themselves lol. Many evil spirits are former incarnate men/woman who want to satiate their base desires and so muster up the spiritual strength they can to possess a person(or obsess them, as even being around said things still gives them a cheap thrill, I guess[if I what read was correct lol]. Interestingly enough, schizophrenia is actually caused a lot of the time(though not always) by an evil spirit oppressing them.

That's interesting. I don't know much about schizophrenia, I'll look it up.

Ghosts are nothing more than earthbound spirits too, usually they're ignorant of the afterlife and so have a hard time transitioning to a brighter sphere, a more pleasant one(hence why spirit guides will come to help them), though, depending on their state of mind they may be unapproachable being in total confusion of what's going on. Indeed, many earthbound spirits are former people who never once gave thought to an afterlife and hence their transition to a brighter sphere is never goes as smoothly or fast due to their state of mind... People who vehemently believe there is no hereafter almost get what they want, total oblivion...said people will usually stay in a state of mental slumber for many years perhaps, even centuries, before they wake up to the "truth" and realize "they are". It must be remembered that afterlife = mind! Dying will not magically turn a person from one state of mind to another completely, they are just the same as they were before the transition takes place, hence, evil people very quickly gravitate towards the dark spheres(which aren't fiery or anything in anyway....quite the contrary, they're actually cold and desolate, reflective of the type of life that person lived) and those who lived very selfless lives will find themselves in a realm of unsurpassable beauty and light, like attracts like, and such is the law of the afterlife.

Sorry for going off there, lol, I just find the subject of spirituality so fascinating and barely anyone to talk to it with...some more books I have enjoyed on the subject as well(and indeed, where I get a lot of(but not all!) of my info. from: http://new-birth.net/books_life_after_death.htm
