Do you belive in ghost / the paranormal

yeah im really into paranormal stuff
the house im living in at the moment is two hundred years old; the original house burnt down and there are grave stones outside
ive heard cabinets and doors slamming and things moving around in my closet around 3-5am
im completely certain there is an "entity" or two living here

I'm not sure if I've ever had a paranormal experience or if it was just coincidence/has a perfectly logical explanation.

When I was younger I had a battery operated laptop (a childs laptop) that wouldn't stop turning on by itself. I took the batteries out of it and it stopped but later that night it turned on again O.o Since then, I don't believe I've had any other odd happenings.

Ghosts are just another scapegoat to explain something that you don't know the cause of. Just because a shelf fell over or a bulb burnt out doesn't mean that they're being caused by something paranormal. There are plenary more realistic and testable possibilities.

No, I've never seen any reason to believe in that kind of stuff. I do not believe in an afterlife. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I see absolutely no reason to believe that our consciousness is any more than chemicals interacting in our brains, thus it doesn't really make sense for it to carry on when our brains aren't functioning anymore. So if something ghost-like does exist, I would have a very hard time believing it is actually the "spirit" of a dead person.

Eh, not really. I am a Christian and believe in spirits that way, but Ghosts n' Stuff, nah... (See what I did there?)

Actually as a Christian you do believe in the "Paranormal" considering that the Bible is full of "Miracles" and God himself is beyond scientific explanation thus making him and his actions 'Paranormal'.

(and yes, I am also a Christian.)

I think that would actually be pretty cool as long as the spirits you're living with aren't the malicious type. :D Not sure if I'd want to live with it for years, but living in a place like that for a few months might be interesting.

The paternal side of my family has had quite a few experiences, My Nan & Uncle used to see a burned girl in their family home.....
I personally haven't SEEN anything but certainly heard it!
My friend Hollie told me that she was strangled one time by a spirit and she had to get her home blessed, thought she was just messing with me, but when we were all downstairs, we could hear footsteps & Doors opening and slamming - I've never been so scared in my life!!!

I don't but I'm still more scared of paranormal things than things that could happen in real life.

Very well said.

I'm scared of zombies. Even though I know they're unlikely, I can't shake my fear of them. Other paranormal things, I'm not scared of though. There's not a plague that can turn everyone into vampires, but that could happen and make something similar to a zombie. (Now I'm scaring myself...)

I'm scared of ghosts.. And zombies.
I think I might have had a paranormal experience. When I was watching the Aika village video, My lights turned off around that part with the room filled with dolls. I'm not sure if that's either bad timing, Or a paranormal experience. Probably the latter.
But yes, I believe in the paranormal. I remember walking through my town's graveyard, and I heard weeping. Yeah. Weeping.
And when I went towards the sound source (Don't try this at home), It was my third uncle's grave.

WARNING: long post haha

I definitely believe in the paranormal. I've had some weird stuff happen. My sisters and I used to play with Ouija boards all the time when we were younger (we were idiots lol). Anyways, we used to always videotape it, and one time we actually filmed something that happened and we didn't even notice til we played it back. We set up a bunch of candles on the table with us, and one moves on the table. Like it slides over. When we played it back we all freaked out and my one sister nearly cried and refused to play Ouija anymore and I haven't done it either lol. The vid is actually on YouTube, every time I watch it I get crazy goosebumps.

Another time, my best friend and one of my sisters (she is seriously obsessed with the paranormal, wants to study it professionally) went to this place called Texas Side Road near us, apparently one of the most haunted places in Canada. We had a camera, flashlights, and my sister had a digital voice recorder. So basically this place is an old graveyard and the road that runs adjacent to it is barricaded at the end but you can just walk back there. There's an abandoned house back there where people have apparently done Satanic rituals in the past. So obviously we walked back there first. When we started walking down the path we saw a bunch of lights up ahead that looked like flashlights so we just assumed we weren't the only ones there because people do go there a lot to try and see stuff. Eventually when we got to the end of the path (it's a dead end) we realized no one else was there so we were like "wtf" obviously. Then we stopped at the end of the path and we just stood there real quiet and tried to see if we could hear anything. Taya's (my best friend) flashlight shut off randomly then we heard what sounded like a low rumbling growl or snarl from the bushes behind us. Idk what kind of animal could even make that sound in this area so we peaced the eff out and went back to the cemetery part.
At the cemetery, we were all walking around separately but still pretty close together. My sister swears she saw someone kneeling over a grave. Then, when she was talking, she suddenly freaked out and was like "oh my god, someone just breathed in my face". So we stayed a bit longer and left. The next morning, Jess (my sister) was listening to all the recordings she took. When she's talking, you can actually hear someone breathing like right into the recorder. It isn't her though because she's in the middle of talking when it happens then you hear her freak out. We also got a bunch of other EVPs (electronic voice phenomenon, basically just voices that aren't yours) saying stuff like hello, one was a creepy laugh, stuff like that.

Another time, I was sleeping over Taya's new house. They hadn't even moved their stuff in yet and it was just her and I, her parents were still at the old house. We had to sleep on the living room floor because there was no furniture. In the morning at like 10, I woke up. I heard a door slam in the basement (there was like a creepy bathroom stall down there for some reason), it sounded like the stall door. So she woke up and I asked her if she heard it, she said no. So I laid back down to go back to sleep for a bit and I heard a man cough. She sat up because she was freaked out and asked me if I heard it and I did. Her parents came over like 2 hours later and they said they weren't there earlier or anything so I don't know what that was...apparently stuff still always happens at her house, even her parents tell me about it.

I've had tons more experiences but I feel bad posting more lol.

The only thing that I believe in is science. Religion is made up, so are ghosts. There's no tangible evidence suggesting there is life after death, thus extinguishing the ancient conspiracy of the super-natural.

Your outlook is refreshing, Jarrad. Too many people settle with miracles and the paranormal as answers, which holds us back from finding the real answers.

Exactly! Couldn't of put it better myself! It's believed that we'd have a 1000 year advance in technology if religion had never existed. Just think, we could be teleporting and cloning ourselves if it wasn't for gullible people believing in such nonsense!

What's wrong with a little mystery though? I'm not religious and don't believe in religion whatsoever but there are still things that science can't explain and are therefore paranormal. Paranormal doesn't have to mean ghosts.

I'm odd as I believe in science, but, I have experienced ghostly goings on and believe in them. I'm also Pagan.

Unexplained doesn't mean paranormal, though. Of course there are things science can't explain; knowing everything is impossible. However, the more we learn, the less we need to use the paranormal as a temporary excuse, and can see things for what they really are.

Yes actually.
At my cousins wedding, we had a moment of silence for my grandmother and his wifes father. In that moment, it got really windy (since it was an outdoor wedding) and cold.

I don't believe in most religions and I'm more content with science, but that doesn't mean that it's not real. I believe in ghosts like how some people believe in aliens. They could be out there, but there isn't enough proof yet.

I don't believe in it most of the times, but then my paranoia makes it real for me. I get reaaaally interested in stories though, even if it sounds 100% fake my mind will find some way to make it seem true.
I get really freaked out when toddlers get scared though, because I kind of believe the whole 'kids can see spirits' thing. xc
