do you appear online when the switch is on sleep mode?

and does it count the hours? my friend was like, you're online, and i'm like noooo i just left it on sleep mode because i have to eat...

The switch disconnects from the internet when it's in sleep mode that's why you cant go into sleep mode when you're on another island. So it shows you as offline and it doesnt count towards your playtime.

thanks! the other games, i don't really leave on sleep mode when it's open so i don't know the mechanics of this. ac is the type of game i could just leave ya know.
