Do we have to have every personality?

I was just finishing up my dreamie list and realized I dont think I have any normal or lazy which is kindve a bummer cause I think lazy is my favorite personality in the game but anyways I was jw if we have to have every type of personality or not

We don't have to. I think everyone is free to have like 10 lazy if they feel it.
I try to have diff. personalities bc after a bit every dialogue is the same and it's a bit boring!

my dreamie list doesn't have a normal or cranky but you only really need them for diys and reactions so maybe just have a normal and lazy until you get everything then go back to having your dreamies
at least that's what i'm doing aha ☆

If you want all diys and reactions yes, but after this it's pretty much up to you! If you don't care about those things then it doesn't really matter

You never have to do anything. I personally hate the idea of having 10 coffee fueled peppies living with me though.

I think it’s always good to have some different personalities! Honestly though, since if you want all of the DIY recipes and reactions, I don’t think I will try to get all of my favorites in until after I have some if not all of those.

I kept a lazy and sisterly on my island until i got all their reactions, and then booted them cause I don't really care for them
but I have at least one of every other personality c:

Depends on your end goal. I know people that play without really interacting with villagers, so to them, I'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter. I personally like the interaction and I try to have all of the personalities for variation purposes.

This, not only that, but the last reaction is locked behind a high friendship score. You better make friends with that Jock, Cranky, or Sisterly you hate!

At least until you've depleted their usefulness, I'd recommend at least 1 of each. When I'm finished with my uchi, I may replace with another snooty, smug, or, jock

As everyone said, you don't need to have them, but you get different DIYs from different personalities. Personally, I had three of my favorite types and it got boring fast! There's interesting conversations that happen between the different personalities, like jockxpeppy, etc. I'm now trying to get one of each personality and then make sure all the hobbies are represented as well. n__n

I won't repeat what everyone else has said since it's true that stuff is personality locked. It also seems that there's unique dialogue with every new event that gets added into NH so you won't see what lazy and normal villagers say in response to those events if you don't have them.

I have every personality right now and am pretty satisfied, but there's definitely some I like more than others. I will likely be switching some of my villagers around once I unlock everything and witness a years worth of events.
