do villagers talk about villagers who are planning to move?

in new leaf, you can find out if someone's planning to move when you talk to your villagers through rumors right? is that game mechanic still present in new horizons?

i've been time traveling a lot to get ordered items so im afraid that one of my villagers will suddenly be in boxes ;u; so far i haven't seen any of my villagers talking about "rumors" like in new leaf.. so how can we know if someone is planning to move besides them personally telling us via ping?

Villagers won't move out unless you explicitly tell them to. Thankfully, you don't have to worry about any of your villagers suddenly going into boxes in this game. You can safely ignore all your villagers for weeks, and none of them will move out. (Speaking from personal experience, I've probably time-traveled a collective total of about 6-8 months so far, and nobody has suddenly boxed themselves.)

No problem. It's also a worry I had in NL as well, and I'm also glad I don't have to worry about it anymore, lol.
