I think the most they'll do is chat every now and then, sometimes get into arguments. If you wanna ship them in your free time go ahead but I dont think villager ships/made up villager relationships are very common at all in the AC community.

Oh i know they exist but compared to things like undertale or homestuck there's barely anything
(edit: of course depending on where you involve yourself you're gonna see more or youre gonna see less of that type of stuff, but so far ive only seen a very minimum amount of shipping and id like to say i involve myself quite a bit in the community. If there is a lot then maybe i havent been in the right places to see it, which is probably a good thing)

I don't think it's a thing. IIRC Wild World had some villagers which would gossip about stuff like this happening but it's never shown. (i.e. they'd come up to you talking about how two other villagers were good friends and "Could be more")
