Do people an extra space saved for their island in case Brewster is added?

I know there has been a lot of talk about whether Brewster will return. However I've been looking at people's maps and a lot of them looked packed in with design. I'm curious if this would mess up everyone's planned island's if they had to add in another building.

Personally I have an outdoor cafe so unless his building his really big I don't it would be an issue for me. Of course there is a good chance he will just stop by through resident services on occasion.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think, if Nintendo cares about sparing people having to change their islands around to accomodate new shops, what they'll do is add the new shops into previously existing buildings. So, Label could become part of Nook's, like how Gracie became part of Nooklings in New Leaf, Kicks could become part of Able's, like how the shoe store was sort of attached to it in New Leaf, and the café could become part of the museum, because Blathers and Brewster are friends, and that would be a way to work it in without having to add a whole new building and mess up people's layouts.

I remember there being some snippet of information dataminers found that pointed to the possibility of Brewster's cafe being back in the museum. I've tried to make sure I have space for whatever we get regardless. It won't fit in my downtown/shopping center, whatever it is, but then perhaps that allows me to have separate areas for different buildings. Hopefully not too many buildings though.

I think it would be cool if you could have like a building plot that works similar to a house plot where you can contract it out to a vendor or smth (like Leif or Kicks), that way you could mix your buildings up every so often

Personally, I do want a separate building for Brewster, if they do decide to add it. Although for people who don't have extra areas, a new building would throw off their entire design, so I get that too. I haven't finished my island, so I have some areas that aren't planned out yet. My shopping area feels kinda bare with just Nook's and Able's, so I'd like to add a cafe building. It would be nice to have the option to choose a building vs. an addition, but I doubt that's something Nintendo's even considering.

Yes I do! I’ve been expecting him from the get go honestly, so I have his spot filled with trees while I wait~

This is exactly what I have in mind if he shows. I’ll just make the cafe smaller and kind of combine the two. If something else shows up? I’m doomed. Not really, but I’ll have to think of something.

I really want a separate space for Brewster, like his own little cafe shop. I think it would look much better since there's only 2 shops in the game, plus you could make a little outdoor area. I have an idea of where his cafe would go, but it would require terraforming/lots of hours decorating.

I know a lot of people would be disappointed to have a separate building because it would change their designs, but I think that refusing to add new buildings because players with 500+ hours would be upset is a pretty poor reason imo. Don't hate me, but you can always move things around and change shop locations

I have a few spots I could fit new shops. I really want more buildings as to make my town square more of a little city.

This is actually one of my biggest fears. I have not even started planning my town because I feel too anxious and stressed because I know there is the possibility for new building to come, and that is not pleasant for my perfectionist self. I know there is the possibility that future buildings and shops are added INSIDE other building, but nothing is for sure. If Nintendo was even a little bit considerate about ourselves, they would add them to pre-existent buildings, but who knows. Anyways can any of you guys share your downtown/shop area? I'd like to have some ideas.

I have a lot of space on my island that's currently kind of 'wild' where I have a lot of flowers, statues, trees, and water laid out.. if we got another shop I would probably dig back a bit into that (just like real life, right? womp) and maybe shuffle some buildings to fit Brewster in where it felt right but still keep a nice layout for everything.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if they gave us an option to either add it to the inside of the museum or to have his own shop outside. It would never happen but we can always dream ☺
I like this idea, but you’re right, it’ll never happen as I think they just want it to be the same for everyone.

I have multiple spots saved for when more shops come in. The one to the left of my museum is where the café will go. I really really really hope it's not put inside the museum, i will be so disappointed

Yes! I do have extra space incase a new building comes out. For example, I have my Nook's (left) ,Ables (middle), and I made a big pink rose garden next to Ables the with approx. same square size of a building. That way if one comes out, I'll just remove my pink rose garden somewhere else!

I didn’t necessarily save empty space directly, but I have things that can be torn down and remade in other places. I currently have an outdoor cafe I’m not too attached to that I plan to remake in a different location if anything new gets released. While it won’t be in my shopping area, it’ll still be close enough to work for me.
