So I recently bought a second game because I missed the creativity of designing a town, but I was not ready to restart my first town, Mystic, for sentimental reasons......then I decided to get back into cycling so I bought a 3rd game, which would help me get the villagers I wanted for my second town. But even after that I am finding myself still thinking about restarting my main town as there are a few things I would have done differently (being more selective on the train station and map) if I had known what I know now back when I started (knew nothing as it was my very first Nintendo game).

So I am thinking of either switching my cycling town over to Mystic, still keep the name and town, but for now make it my cycling town. Then restarting my third town, Sedonah, and make a new dreamie town......or put a hold on my cycling town to move over some of my Mystic villagers (there are a few that have sentimental attachments (I know sounds silly), until I find a new map, etc and then be able to still use the town name Mystic and mayor name.

I hope my rambling makes sense, lol.

Thoughts?

Thank you for responding.

you didnt mention how long youve had Mystic, but i voted to keep it- i like the sentiment of being able to walk around and enjoy the first town you made.

I accidentally voted the second choice but I meant the first choice.

I still have my first town that I made the day I bought the game. I'm been wanting to get a new copy of the game, though.. I want to make my current town a cat town, but I have villagers that I really like so I want to transfer them to my new town.

I think if you're unhappy with Mystic, you should make it a cycling town. I say this because if you decide that you suddenly want to keep Mystic all you have to do is unpluck some weeds and set the date back, whereas if you deleted it there'd be no way of getting Mystic back and you might regret it. Good luck with whatever option you choose! :)

I would keep it. If it has a sentimental value and you have two other cartridges, then you'll both regret resetting it and also don't really need to. I still regret resetting my first town even though I hated it by the end... and I found myself seeking out some of my favourite villagers from that town for my second town.

I wonder how many people that have restarted their first town regretted it over those that did not....should have made that a question too.

You said you wanted to develop new towns, yet at the same time I'm with the sentiment of not letting a town go. So I say keep it, but if you don't want it to be a main town anymore, it's fine to make it a place to cycle villagers in and out. That way you'll still get a place to go back to that first bit of sentiment when playing through AC, as well as offering villagers that move in to other people while pursueing your OWN dreamies :-)

I went through something similar with my original town of Cocoplum. Once I had finished it, I suddenly had nothing else to do there, lol. So I got a few more copies and made two new towns. This encouraged me to begin dismantling Cocoplum and beginning from the ground floor. Best decision I ever made. It is like a brand new town and I love reinventing it into something entirely new. I say hold onto Mystic because once you start changing things up, those things you didn't like about it may suddenly become things you love within the structure of a new town. I hope that made sense. I have been up since three am, lol.

Keep it!!!! My original has been since day one as well. You can always start a new project if your bored with it. Like work on badges or changing your paths or even starting a new project with your houses. I decided to fill my 2 side characters houses with villagers pics. I have them set in groups like a forest room with deer, rabbits and squirrels, and a domestic room with dogs, cats, and hamsters.

I also and working on badges. I'm still working on my 2nd main and that's been fun but I am way too attached to my main to let it go.

I would turn Mystic into a cycling town tbh. You'll be able to move over any villagers you're fond of and be able to come back to it when feeling nostalgic. I restarted my first town but wasn't attached to my first town since I was only 2 months in and wanted a better map and do things properly. It was the best decision and I'm super happy with it.

I voted to keep your first town. My first town still has a lot of sentimental value for me, and I don't think I could ever restart it. But in the end it's your choice, not mine :3

I feel you on the original town! I never reset the town to get an ideal map or fruit. And while part of me always wished to just restart, I kind of like the challenge. The town was totally random, and I've worked it out into something that looks pretty good - at least I think so - I mean that's part of the game. You have to work with your citizens, even when they only request ridiculous pwps, put their houses down in all the wrong places, swap shirts, and ruin the interior of their houses. It's all a part of the fun!

Thank you to everyone who participated in my poll and also shared your thoughts about restarting or keeping the first town.

I have decided that I will keep Mystic. I have made a few changes - bushes, more saplings and less pear trees. There are two homes that I have never liked where they plotted, so I think I will move those two out and do the 16 cycle to get them back and then plot their homes in a better place. That means that I will temporarily have to delete my 4th character - Holicasa whose home is holiday themed so that I will be able to plot reset. As for paths, I have tried numerous times to use paths, but struggle with how they look.....so I may try that again.

The pros of keeping Mystic far out weigh the cons.

Thanks again!
