Do I need the DLC to get HHP furniture from other players?

I've never really been much for the interior designing aspect that HHD and HHP cater to, so I didn't get the paid dlc, but I would like the exclusive furniture that comes with it in my catalog. I just don't know if it will register or not if I don't have HHP.

Does anyone know if the 2.0 update allows for the HH-exclusive furniture by itself, or is it coded specifically to the dlc?

From what I heard, no you don't need the HHP Expansion to get the furniture, as long as your game is updated to 2.0 you should be fine.

true. i had a friend of mine send me two items from the hhp and i didnt have it. the items were so amazing that i broke down and got hhp lol
