DLC not yet released on certain regions

what happen to my savefile/game if i traded with DLC items not yet released in our region?

e.g. the Zodiac series not yet available for NA

just asking ^^

I've had the complete Zodiac set, nothing happened. Same for the Astrological set, my file wasn't 'hurt' in any way ^^

I have the Campus set in my catalog. It really doesn't affect my game other than being in my catalog. By the way, the Campus set is reorderable Japanese DLC, and I use a NA cartridge.

I have 100% the catalog and nothing has happened to my physical copy of the NA version of the game.

Yeah, all regions are fine. Pretty sure they code this for them all beforehand, but just may not officially release to some.

Hell, you could even have items that aren't officially released anywhere and it'd still be fine. Just so long as the coding for the hacked item wasn't bugged in any way.

The 7/11 set is pretty much a Japan-exclusive, and it's done nothing to hundreds of non-Japanese copies.

Just like event Pokemon, the items are already present in the code. All they're doing is distributing.

Zodiac - the bobble-heads little animal figures, you get one each year on January the 1st
Astrological - the Libra Scale, Capricorn Ornament... DLCs
