Anyone got it? I have the first one and I played the demo for #2 I enjoyed myself. It was much, much, more D.I.Y and I'm liking the career mode (empire) idea. I doubt I'll get it until the price drops. (current $60) Major complain they shrunk everything why? I can see the need for shrinking when you're play battle or 2 player but on solo?! Lame.

Thoughts?

I have the first Dj Hero and I love it.
I will probably buy it if I get that job that I have an interview for in a couple of days.

Cool to see another fan on TBT (Good luck)

I like the new interface and improvements to the note track in comparison to the first.

it's an awesome game and, in my opinion, has much more consistency as far as the quality of the mixes go.

i still don't exactly understand how it works as a game, but i am a fan of music games, and by relation, dj hero, and by relation it's sequel.

did i win?

i might get it if it goes on sale or something

take guitar hero.
you play notes, you play them when they need to be played, you are scored.

take DDR.
you step on the buttons in time with the music/rhythm, you are scored.

I don't understand how DJ hero scores the player, how it is a game, how you "lose" since DJ'ing is a lot of personality, creativity, all that, along with the very analog nature of turntables, as compared to things like stepping on a button or playing the right note.

if it sounds good or not, sure, but that's hugely based on opinion.

while playing the guitar or dancing can be a lot more than just basic notes and steps, DJ'ing is hardly something that can be made simple.. just because it's basically all analog, all creative, all totally based on what you, the player, want to do..

i dunno. i haven't played it, i have no clue. bleh.

so then, there's no score system, it's all free-play, basically?

no, that's an interesting concept, however.

in dj hero 1 it was pretty much all hitting notes on a track with no creative input from the player save from a few sections where you could play a select list of samples and play with feedback and whatnot.

dj hero 2 builds off of that by creating sections where you're let loose to scratch however you want, switch between the 2 tracks as you see fit, and play just -one- select sample for a certain section (the sample fits in with the song whereas in the first game it was usually an out-of-place "AWWWH YEAAAH" or something).

so.. this post is more or less true? it's like guitar hero, but with two tracks instead of one?

so then it's a dumbed down guitar hero+amplitude with a fancy controller? :/

back in my day, music games were challenging.

expert mode says play the game before talking about challenge.

@OmegaMan
DJ Hero 1 Turn-table + Game (new) $60
DJ Hero 1 Turn-table + Game (used) $45
DJ Hero 2 Turntable + Game (new) $100
DJ Hero 2 Game $60
DJ Hero 2 2 Turntables + Game (new) $120 or $140

How is that unreasonable?
