I'm currently do the diving trick so I can unlock PWPs. And it's taking FOREVER. I only got 1 PWP from the citizes and it was one I didn't need at all. Looks like I'm going to be here for a while. . . How long have you've the diving trick to get a pwp? Is there any more effective methods that you know of?

You have to make sure that you are friends with them for it to be very effective. As well, fill your pockets with flowers in order to lower the amount of options the villagers can say

As far as I know I'm friends with my villagers because I talk to them regularly. Also I did do the flower thing and my villagers do ping me, not just for pwp

Did you get the one PWP today? If so, you can only get one a day, so you're wasting your time.
If not, then I can't help you, sorry.

It took forever for me to get pwp's suggested doing the diving trick too so i just gave up. I found that just playing the game for longer gets villagers to ping you more often xD

I'm still trying to get more pwps too! The beach/diving trick is so boring and I tried writing letters on the beach but I think the clock doesn't count it as it hasn't worked for me, unfortunately! I have found what also works is walking around with Isabelle while trying to figure out where to place a pwp. Then after a while of walking you cancel the pwp and you can get a ping. It hasn't always worked for me, but it's way more fun than sticking out on the beach as you can look around your town and figure out potential places to put pwps.

I hope you get more soon! :D

Try make sure you have less than 5000 bells and no items on you! It might help

Save and quitting and then opening the game also triggers new pings. It cuts down on time (I believe you have to wait 4 minutes after jellyfish stings) however it's more labor intensive and requires more attention. If I'm doing the jellyfish method, I'll leave my 3DS open and just watch tv for a while and every 5 minutes I'll go back and look for pings. At least then you don't feel like you're wasting all your time waiting for villagers to ping you. Oh and try to do it within a day because I don't think villagers ask to change catchphrases/greetings more than once a day or possible file load.

I'm doing it right now too. It was slow at first but just today I finally got the bus stop and police station like I wanted. It's time consuming but you get more PWP this way than waiting for the pings naturally. Keep at it :)

Side note: because of this all of my villagers are calling me pop star lmao

I'm doing it right now, and let me tell y'all... trying to get pings from a specific villager (most of the PWPs I want can only be suggested by an uchi villager) turns New Leaf into a stealth game. I feel like I need a cardboard box to hide under.

I have another trick but idk if it will work for you too or not. Since i'm still landscaping my town, i deal with flowers all the time and i noticed they ping me a lot when i was rearranging flowers/watering flowers. Also doing your daily chores like usual also counts, and i noticed that most of the pingers are the one i rarely greet. i think the main point here is stay away from their view for some period of time.

I agree with the others: You don't have to be diving to get pings. Just stay out of their sight. Do some landscaping, go shopping, fix your house, just stand somewhere-- it doesn't matter, really, as long as your villagers don't see you. You'll get a ping eventually! And if you don't get one for a while, you could enter a building, then exit, then wait for like 5 minutes without them seeing you.

If you continuously play for more than an hour, try talking to a villager, preferably someone who you don't really want to get PWPs from. They'll tell you to rest (because you've been playing for an hour). After you talk to them, I'm pretty sure someone's going to ping you. Some say the first villager to see you after you've been told to rest (not including the one who you just talked to) will ping, but that hasn't always worked for me; it's not necessarily that the first villager who sees you pings you, but there's a high chance you'll get a ping from someone.

Hope this helps! c:

Definitely! You don't have to do the whole diving thing. It's just to ensure that the villagers won't see you. Don't talk to any of them when you load up the game for the day and that'll help with getting more pings. Haha a watched pot never boils and I always end up getting more pwps when I'm not even trying.

have high friendship with your villagers, fill your pockets, carry no more than 100 bells and try the reset trick.

I've noticed that once I did the diving trick and got a PWP, my villagers have been suggesting PWPS a lot more lately.

Yes, once I started building pwps again my villagers started suggesting a lot more for some reason. It's gone back to nothing now and I have to try force them with the hiding from them trick.

It's kind of worked? I've gotten one PWP suggested so far but I'm not having much luck getting a particular PWP I want.
