Any hints on how to catch that little bugger the diving beetle? I remember that last time I played I needed to use a net. But geeze... every time I am SURE I caught one, it dives and swims merrily away. Maybe I am swinging the net when it is too close to shore?

You can catch the diving beatle from may to september at 8am to 5pm. When you catch a bug you are holding a certain distance. Maybe you can't go tat close to the shore and hold the distance like when a flower would betwenn the shore and your feet? Idrk how to explain, I'm sorry.. 
Diving beetle - a little black triangle - I often see them in the ponds or in the river by the bridges.
Yes catch with a net - you need to watch it - it turns a lightish green (presumably meaning its come to the surface) - that is when you can catch it (not when its black) - swing the net when its within range ie by edge of the pond/river.
sorry, guess you know that (I fast scan read) I swing net when its very close to the edge of the bank - just keep trying. It doesn't scare off.
