Don't think I've seen any hype for this on TBT yet besides chatting with Gallows... anyone else excited for it? The Toy Box mode in particular.

I actually got to play a preview of the game recently at an event. Got a shirt and bag too. Pretty much sent my hype through the roof, especially for the Toy Box which is what I played!

Is it not the case that you have to buy characters you want? Or something like a skylanders model?

I am really excited for it! I hope they release more characters right off the bat :) They showed a little bit of the characters in the trailer but I really hope there's more.

Would buy it if it wasn't a money grab like Skylanders. I mean seriously, paying for each individual character? No.

I will get it because the toy box mode looks cool and the playsets do too. Although I don't really like the fact that you have to spend extra money on toys. However, it's not necessarily required so I will excuse it.

Also, I do feel that this is way better than DLC.

I've been SUPER excited for it as of late. I'll be picking it up on Wii U, pre-ordering soon so I can get my free Davy Jones figure. Might pick up the Lone Ranger play set as well; reminds me of a Disney version of Red Dead.

it looks pretty cool. complicated with the power discs that you have to get plus the expansion packs. it's kind of like skylanders, but there are power discs and you are able to create your own world. i'll have to see how it goes.

That's the only thing it has in common with Skylanders from what I can tell. Skylanders is more of a battle type game, while Infinity is play/create anything you want to. There are story mode aspects within each playset, some linear, some open-world like Lone Ranger, but ultimately it just seems like a very fun intuitive experience with the heart of it being creation and sharing your experiences amongsts friends and the world.

I do hope someday we'll get Marvel & Star Wars characters joining the fray

yeah i'm still confused how disney can release a game so similar to skylanders with the portal feature. i'm wondering if disney gave money to skylanders or skylanders didn't get a copyright on the portal. also, pokemon is coming out with one with the figurines looking like the ones from pokemon rumble.

Heyyy guys, this is out today! Anyone pick it up?

I picked it up on Day One since my brother and I preordered it. Because we did, we got 2 free power discs (the Starter Pack comes with one as well.) and a Mike figure since we wanted to play multiplayer on the M.U. Play Set.

The game is awesome so far! I admit the Toy Box is a bit complicated, but the toy sets are where Infinity comes to life.

The game kind of reminds me of Kingdom Hearts. I hope to see some Peter Pan, Jungle Book, or any old Disney films put into the game.

My son has actually asked for this, he is 3 -.- We've had Skylanders before which is very similar.. it gets too expensive in my opinion. However the game does look really cool and I love Disney :P

At my local Target they had figures for Disney Infinity. They are 12.99 each there, and that's not a lot to ask for in my opinion. It's worth the money :) I preordered the game at GameStop so it came with a 2 Power Disc Pack (they are random so its like a collectable thing.) and a free figure of choice. We chose Mike from Monsters University for multiplayer.

If you get the Starter Pack, be careful pulling Mr. Incredible and Sully out of the box. The paint might be chipped off if you pull to hard. However, the packaging makes it so you HAVE to pull hard. They're pretty stuck in there, as well as everything else in the box.

But what are the power discs for? These are like an extra thing you have to pay for, right? :/ There is also a new Skylanders being released too :o

There are circular discs and hexagonal discs. The circle ones are where you put under your character to get bonuses and power ups. The hexagonal discs are the ones you use in the Toy Box. They are kind of like texture packs. The Starter Pack comes with one random one, but the 2-Pack ones come with one of each disc and are like 4.99. So of course, they are optional.

I like Skylanders but in Infinity, there is no health bar. Plus, when you remove a figure, it's still in the game until it is replaced.

Also, characters can't not go into foreign worlds. For example, a Sully figure can only be used in Monsters University. In the box of the figure and starter pack, you will see what it is compatible with.

No fair it sounds really cool, but I just don't know. I might wait a little and watch some videos. This is what we did for Skylanders.

I don't have those anymore, because I just wasn't overly bothered about them but well.. Disney is like something I know and my son loves it. HELP! >_<

I think this sounds awesome. I love sky landers, so as long as the figures are good quality, I don't see a problem in this gaming style. You're not just 'spending money on a character'. You're buying a really awesome figure that you can use in a video game. I wanted to do that with my toys all the time when I was a kid! How awesome is that?
