In my transaction log I got 1 ticket participatory but I think I should have gotten 8 tickets for getting 2nd place. If the tickets are coming later, I apologize, but I think it might be an error.

This is not an error. Tickets for users who placed will come in a later batch. For now we have only given users who came in 1st/2nd/3rd a single ticket to match the users who received a single ticket for answering at least one question right.
