Disappointed by a Dreamy?

Have you waited, hoped, prayed and paid a fortune for one of your Dreamies only to get them safely home in your town, and you suddenly felt disappointed? I experienced this with Marshal. I finally got him and must have built it up too high. He is cute and tiny, but to be honest, I preferred Pietro as my smug villager. Maybe he will grow on me?

So, has anyone else experienced a let-down with any of your dreamies?

I got Bob as a starter but recently I forget he's even in my town after a month.

Another disappoint was Butch.

Yes! I totally know how you feel. I hunted Pekoe down for a long time in City Folk, never got her. Then finally got her in New Leaf after a long time... Only to be oddly disappointed. She never fit in, and I never felt vested in her, it was so weird! Sometimes it just happens. Someone you have been looking for a long time, you just never feel connected with. Or sometimes, a random one moves in, and something just clicks.

erik. i liked him the very moment i stepped into his house in a friends town and i got him weeks later. but after a while, he just kinda seem meh to me. but he gave me his pic just yesterday after i completed his petition soo...i still like him lol

Give it time. Talk to Marshal a lot. Maybe it will just take awhile for the two of you to become friends. I don't know how long you had Pietro, but you can get attached to villagers that you see and talk to everyday. Marshal's the new kid in town. Hopefully you will become great friends in the future.

Marshal. He wasn't a dreamie, but he was cute, and I like the smug villagers. But he's just kind of meh to me. I have him in my town currently, but he's really just there until my boyfriend has room for him.

Graham and O'Hare are way better smugs, at least to me anyway.

I feel like it always takes me awhile to feel close to my new villagers. Stitches is still pretty new for me and I like him but we just haven't been friends for that long, I'm sure we'll get there.

Baabara is just on the bubble, where I'm not sure if I'd like to keep her, because I'm not feeling connected, but I'm not sure if I want anyone more...Though I do have a few ideas coming to me as I mull it over, so it might be time to experiment.

I did what you suggested and spent the day socializing with Marshal. And I gifted him a stringfish when he requested a river fish. I think we are on our way. Thank you for the advice
