well, i agree that spammers aren't/never were amusing, but trolls are; and it is to my knowledge we haven't had any of those in a while (unless blue_jay counts)

there are spammy trolls, or trolls who spam, but that isn't necessarily all that a spammer is/could be, just the same as trolls don't have to be spammers.

only *censored.2.0* trolls are spammers.
