Disappearing DIYs?

Has this happened to anyone else. I could've have sworn I had the tall garden rock and I even gave my double away but now I don't have it!

I believe that this is a known bug. It's yet to happen to me, but others have had diys disappear on them.

LOL!!! Yeah it does make it hard to find the recipes you actually care about!

This is probably the 10th topic I've seen about disappearing DIYs. I'm about to just tag Nintendo and say that this keeps happening and that giving villagers items makes them duplicate it in their house.

Every time I go to check my DIY list I am pretty sure that it's missing something because it seems so much shorter than it should. I never documented which ones I had so there's no way for me to tell.

I'm thinking about doing this. There were DIYs I thought for sure I already had. I could just be imagining it.

Just build the thing every time you get a DIY, then it will be catalogued.
Then you can check.

Or does it get catalogued without crafting it?

You have to craft it first so it can be catalogued.

I think this has happened to me with he sign where you can edit the picture on it DIY. I am 99% sure I had one sitting in my town at one point then sold it, and when I went to craft it I did not have the DIY. Just recently I got the DIY for it again I think.

Please lmk if villagers can gift you DIY items.

I got a message in a bottle the other day and opened it. I went into my pocket to choose it and learn it and it wasn’t there. There wasn’t a time lag, I couldn’t have sold it or trashed it or anything. I went into my pocket immediately after reading the message and the recipe wasn’t there.

The other day I was outside my museum, and suddenly one of my small fossils I had outside was gone.

I didn't pick it up, nothing.

I even checked the recycle in case, even though I hadn't touched it.

I might just document the ones I have now in case I notice something odd again. If DIY are actually disappearing and or being forgotten this makes the whole DIY flawed. I don't want to spend so much time gathering DIY knowing that some may just vanish via a glitch. I'd rather just be able to catalogue them if that is the case.

Then again maybe catalogue items are slipping through a glitch crack to.
