Disappearing azalea start?

I planted an azalea start yesterday and now the little bud you get when you plant it is gone?! is this normal or did it disappear?! >.<

Did you put it next to a house, a PWP or rock?

Yeah, might be why - bushes are like trees, aside from being able to grow right next to trees and other bushes, you need at least one space between it and all other structures, as well as the edges of cliffs. They will look wilted first, then just disappear, if it's planted next to something like a bench.

You can't put it right beside buildings, cliffs, public works or rocks. This is most likely why. It will also die if it is the 12th connection of a bush connection.
