For the next game, I want an option to choose between various types of terrain, much like three-tier towns in GameCube, cliff-isolated towns in games up to City Folk, or cliff-elevated (with a beach at the bottom) towns like in New Leaf.

But then there's more: What about towns with sea coming in from the top? It would make for a different twist on town terrain, or towns with no seaside at all, and situated between mountains, like that one layout in Happy Home Designer? There's a lot of potential with those ideas.

With different terrain types mean different climates. I don't expect a mountainous town to get overly-hot nor a tropical seaside town to pile up with snow. It could help contemplate with the Southern Hemispherical setting that would be perfect for down-under themed towns.

The problem with that is different types of fish and bugs, like not being able to catch a hermit crab in a landlocked town or trying to find a King Salmon in a tropical island-like settlement. Maybe having multiple towns, or going to other parts of a town (kind of like MySims) could be a probable solution?

I want to own multiple towns in the next instalment. Make a landlocked one theme park-based, or a seaside one tropical resort-themed. I can imagine the endless possibilities that the next entry will have to show us!

I would like to choose terrain and climates. I wouldn’t want my town to be covered in snow, but I would want my town to be cold all year.

I would like terrain with hills, or very rocky, with different types of rocks. I said on another thread that different in game towns would be nice. You could pay to go to them(like the island)and they could have different climates(OK i didn't say all that but this is a different thread).

What about this: Depending on where your town is in the world, you could have shorter daylight and longer nights and vice versa.

^Definitely would like to see the seasons reversed for the southern hemisphere at the very least but sadly I don't see it happening. I don't think Nintendo has ever even considered this in any of their games.

I would love to have different climate options but somewhere to travel to on the side to get bugs and fish that can't appear in your town.

I like that idea. I would love it to have a town located in the mountains, where it's most of
the time very cold, therefore lots of snow. I don't like spring and sommer in Animal Crossing
that much and winter is my favorite season, so I would welcome it. Besides that, it would
be cool to have a little mountain where the villagers could go sledging. I hope the new
game has such options.

I definitely like the idea of different terrains and things like that! I think we’d need to have certain things though, such as an ocean and river ect, unless there would be another way to get those fish or whatever else. Same thing with climates for me, it would be nice but I wouldn’t want to only have winter bugs most of the year for example! :p

I think a little variation would be good, but I feel like desert/rainforest/island/etc towns would be better suited for a spin-off game or something (in the same vein as HHD, except you decorate entire neighborhoods/little towns?) Half of animal crossing's appeal to me is the charm that comes with its simplicity, so lots of wacky different climates would feel a little... off. I do hope they add different elevations though - that was something I missed from the old games. It'd be cool if the cliffs came in different sizes and aren't just barriers that cut through the middle of your town something like the background in this would be nice.

An idea would be what they did with those homes in HHD where before you made up the clients home, you picked where they lived. You could pick climates that way.

What was that one fan interpretation made for the Wii U a while back? Um...oh... one sec, I had to look it up, but it was called AC: make believe, it’s a cool concept, I really liked it.

But In all of this, lunatepic is right.... while I’m all for having more variety... it would make it seem silly...as it’s Animal Forest (Doubutsu no Mori) in Japan, not animal resort or something like that...but maybe we need a little something different in this series....I don’t know at the moment...

I’m just going to sit back and see what comes next (please let this not be a port, that’s all I hope)

i just want better maps. the new leaf maps suck and i'm so bored of them, i want split levels, cool rivers, islands and stuff. not a flat field with a river going accross it and a 90˚ cliff down to the beach...
