I did because I didn't know there were different maps until I was too far in the game to want to reset.I don't like the way my map looks compared to a lot of others I've seen but I'm making it work for me.
Nope, I think I chose the third one he showed but not before rotating through them all.
I wish I remembered to keep resetting till I have the best map but in my excitement to play I forgot...at this point with all I achieved in my main town I don't think I'll ever want to reset it.
When I first started I looked at all the maps first and chose which one I liked the best. I didn't know anything about restarting to choose maps since it was my first time playing AC ever so... yeah. I restarted my town a few times and each time I always made sure I got a map with Re-Tail being close to the harbour because at the time I'd just learnt about beetle hunting and wanted to have a shorter distance to run to sell my beetles.
After that I made a new town, same thing, but I started really focusing on decorating with PWPs and flowers... but the map I had didn't have the room for everything I wanted but now I have a map with PLENTY of space, most of the villagers by the cliff side and Re-Tail close the the harbour. I found myself a winner! For me at least..
But yeah, I've spent hours going through maps to find the right one.
I went through the first 3 he gave me, and I picked my favourite of those 3. I didn't really have any requirements like many people do. I just liked the look of it, and where things were located (Retail next to Train station, Town Hall in middlish of map). It's a lot nicer when you just make a map work for you, than trying to find the perfect one. There's a reason they didn't make it so that you can build your town from scratch (like native fruit, grass pattern, river orientation, town hall location etc.)
The first town, yes. It was my first AC game, and I didn't know there were multiple maps or anything. It was a fantastic layout, too.
Second town, no. Reset for about 8 hours for a good map with Stitches as a starter.
Not sure if it was the exact first one, but I did stick with the one of the four maps because Tangy was one of the original villagers (she's my favorite) and I also happen to like the map
