Did You Keep Your Original Ponds?

Did you? I don’t like mine so I’m thinking of covering it up and setting up a new one somewhere else with a different shape as I don’t like the location and the shape of it. However, I read some “manmade” ponds don’t spawn pond fish unless you have bait? Is this true? If so, I might have to keep my pond...

i got rid of all my ponds and made some more and i still get fish without using bait

yeah, i've been terraforming while also keeping my original terrain in mind. i have one of those sideways heart ponds and plopped genji's house right next to it. i would like to move that whole area somewhere else but i can't bring myself to ruin the originality haha

manmade ponds definitely spawn fish sans bait, i find fish in mine all of the time

I kept the location but changed its shape into a heart. However, I may end up re-locating it soon since I kind of want that space next to my house to build a nice deck/patio.

I didn't like where my pond was so bulldozed it. I have two man made ones now and they spawn fish just fine.

At the moment, yes. But in the long term I think my entire map will be drastically changed. I won't have the same ponds, my rivers won't flow the same way, etc.

A pond will spawn fish as long as it's at least 3x3. If you're afraid of losing your "natural" looking pond, take a picture of it so you can recreate it later.

I kept both of them, but I made one smaller and the other larger.

I got rid of my ponds and have a heart shaped one now. Fish still spawn in it!

I've gotten rid of my original ponds and made my own because I wanted my ponds in a different location. I've never had issues with fish spawning in them. If you can spawn fish with bait, fish should also be spawning naturally from time to time

So far, yeah! I changed the rivers around but I actually like where the ponds spawned so haven't felt the need to change them.

My manmade pond 100% spawns pond fish - I caught a catfish in it a few minutes ago.

Yeah, they only spawn if they are wide enough though.

I kept one original pond and made another, but since the other has waterfalls it spawns river fish lol. Caught a golden trout in the "pond" behind my house hahha

yeah, i'm pretty sure stuff like tadpoles and goldfish etc only show up in ponds. (and carps, kois etc).
