Did you ever eat a real persimmon?

It's really popular among Koreans so I ate it a lot when I was younger. I like eating it when it's cold and squishy. c: I just cut it open and eat it with a spoon.

Had it not been for ACNL, I probably wouldn't have ever heard of Persimmons or Durians. I had to Google them when I first came across them in ACNL. I love fruit, so I would like to try both... But these sound like regional fruits. I wonder if I can get them in NYC.

You'll be able to find them somewhere. Trust me, because I found persimmons in a small-ish town in Indiana. So yeah, you should be able to find them in NYC. :3

I have them in my backyard c:
I was so happy when I saw them in New Leaf! It made me feel like a bit of my house was in my game. ^^

Yepp I always did~ and also peaches but I like none of their taste hahaha!! So not eating them while rest of my family love it so much~

I have three persimmon tree at my house (in real life). It's so yummy. Every year, I donate some to one of my professor as a bribe. LOL.

I only had the opportunity to eat one once, because they're rare and expensive up here in Seattle. I loved it. I usually hate fruit and gag just because of the weird textures (apples and pears excluded) but the persimmon was fine, with a mellow sweetness.

No, and I don't really plan to. But one that would be REALLY awful to try would be a durian :p.
I had durian ice cream once! The first taste is like car exhaust or gasoline fumes or tar, but the aftertaste is nice.

Not sure where you've been looking, but I also live in Seattle and persimmons are definitely not rare. o: They're in most of the stores I buy groceries at.

Anyway. I've had persimmons. They're okay. I prefer a number of other fruits over them, though.

It might be a wealth/seasonality thing. It's hard for me to even score things like tomatillos fresh at my Safeway.

Has anyone ever had a real durian? I've never had the courage to try, since they smell so bad!

Probably not a wealth thing, cos I'm not exactly rich enough to shop at Whole Foods on a weekly basis. xD;

Seasonality probably plays a bit of a role, it's considered a fall/winter fruit. Might be where you're shopping at also? I do a loooot of shopping in Chinatown. Things are a lot cheaper there.

That's it! I love Ballard but holy moly it's kinda whitebread so the selection is poor outside of the farmer's markets.

Aww, Ballard, my cousin just bought a house there. : D It's nice, but yeah, not thaaaat much of a selection. I bus there mostly just to go to the fabric store.

I live on Capitol Hill, which is close to Chinatown and ALL THE ASIAN FOOD FOREVER.
