Did someone experience this problem as well and can help?

So I have Altaira my second town. Yesterday (19th April in my game but 6th of may on her game)I had Elise in boxes (I didn?t TT as mayor because someone wanted her) but I had the 10th spot free. I found Jacques available for free and thought he could have a short stay in Altaira and then move to Lua when I had the space for him and ta dam! My town would be complete.

I didn?t know if I could ask a villager to move in in the same date as I had a villager in boxes so I proposed that person we would try it out because I had the 10th spot available anyway. As this image shows it seems it worked


He said he would move out and I was really happy. The next thing I did was check if he indeed would move. As a new character I TT foward and backwards I tried anything. One day, two days, a month and nothing!

There was not a single plot of land (not of him or any villagers). Elise house would disappear but I wouldn?t see any plot of land of any kind. The town would go unchanged for months? Does someone know why this happens? The last thing I can try now is TT one day as mayor instead of using a new character but will that really solve the issue? Thank you! I hope someone can help I really was hoping to get Jacques.

I see you're not online anymore, but if you do recheck this, I'm sad to say you won't get Jacques You must have a free space, not just have someone in boxes for an asked villager to show up.

I'm sure you'll be able to get Jacques again though

But Jacques did say he would move to Altaira. If there wasn't any space for him, he wouldn't agree to move, right? At least when I get villagers from the campsite, I can't even ask them if my town is full.

No I had space for him. I only had nine villagers and the nine villager (elise was moving out). I still had that 10th villager space for Jacques and he accepted to move. He wouldn't have accepted it if I didn't have space. When I can enter in contact with the person that wanted Elise I will TT as mayor and see if that does anything. If it doesn't I guess is a bug because I had the space for him and he accepted. I still accept suggestions though Thank you very much.

Oh okay, I totally missed that part! What I would do then is go one day and save with your mayor, then the next day start again with a new character, as it might be taking two days for the plot to come, and no matter how far ahead of time you go with the new character it will only count as one! Good luck but I think you will still get Jacques

No matter how long you time travel without playing with your mayor, it only counts as one day. So play with you mayor on a seperate day, then TT.

I didn't know about that poliwag0 ;-; Thank you so much though you three! I still have hope then! I mean if he accepted maybe if I TT as mayor I will get him and still give Elise to that other person. If it doesn't work at least that other person will get Elise. I will try out your suggestion (I didn't try to TT as mayor yet) but for now I need to wait for that other person to move out Elise. I will update the result whatever it may be if it doesn't work this time it can always work another day.

I literally had this happen to me yesterday when trading Marina for Lolly. I had 8 villagers, went to get Lolly. Person then came over to get Marina. I TT with new character for 5 days (1 at a time) and see nothing. I then went back to the day after the trade - still nothing. I was resigned to losing Lolly at this point. Went one more day ahead (technically 2 days from the date of trade BUT my second time on that date) and I see Lolly's plot. It's not in an ideal place but I saved anyway. I check the next day and it was the trade Lolly.

TLDR They will come but the moving pattern is a bit broken. Keep trying.

He will move in, load up a day on a new file and look for his house. If it's not there, save the character and quit, TT another day ahead with the 3DS clock and make a new character. His plot will be there, I've had this happen to me with Beau. For some reason, the game needs a day to process a villager leaving and a villager moving in.

I found when cycling after I hit 8 villagers I had to place a plot for the first day of resetting for the plot bc like you said as far as you go not plot would show. Then on my next new save file load the plot showed up.
