Wow. I didn't realize this thread would get so geopolitical!
Tao, that WAS a little rash, YES, I understand that saying Canada, with our free healthcare and clean, drinkable tap water shouldn't really say we are "factually the worst country on earth". Our Dollar IS weak. We DON'T have a National Identity. We are basically a "baby" country (along with the USA) compared to all these wonderfully solid, cultured, diverse, ingrained countries East and West across the oceans from us! Yes, they may have weaker infrastructure or education or public works but I envy the National Identity and Pride that citizens of these countries have. Caucasian Canadian Citizens, who were born in Canada, when asked about their heritage RARELY say "I'm Canadian". They say, "I'm German" (or English, or French, or Ukrainian, or Serbian, or Italian.....). Canadian??? What does THAT mean? Yeah, we were BORN here.... but my MOTHER being born elsewhere sounds WAY COOLER..... Canada does not have a National Identity. We take pride in having the identity of OTHER nations! Because YOU'RE WAY COOLER. Other countries have been around for CENTURIES. Some, Millennia! We have been around for less than 300 years. Its SAD. But yay for us, for instilling high taxes as a solution to give us a strong education system, good infrastructure and free healthcare. The taxes hurt my pocketbook. Other countries handled those issues better in my opinion, but we did things our way. And for that, I must pay $3.00 for a 3DS Theme. But at least I don't have to pay a bill to go see a doctor, visit the hospital OR pay health insurance. In that respect, I am happy to live in Canada, so I am staying put. Free post secondary education IS very appealing though.... I kinda wish we had that.... Our tuition rates just keep rising and rising, its NUTS.....
.....Sorry for ranting.
