Dialogue for photos has possibly been fixed in update? (needs more testing)

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already, but it looks like the latest update fixes the dialogue when a villager gives you their photo. Previously it would treat it like any other item and just say "<villager's name> photo", but now the villager actually says "my photo" and acknowledges that it's a special gift.

I know a lot of us have been doing the fruit stack trick (myself included), but now that they fixed this, I think I'm going to go back to trying to get photos the old way just because I like little moments like this.

I posted this on the AC reddit as well, and someone on there said they have gotten old dialogue twice since the update, so I'm not exactly sure what is going on. This is the first photo I have received since the update, and I got it from a delivery quest (not sure if that matters). It seems like the change in dialogue may only be for quests, and you may still get the old dialogue when they give it to you a photo in return for a random gift. Feel free to report back next time you get a photo!

Ahhh, good to know! The dialogue they had before was weird and impersonal. At least now it’s better and makes the photo giving more meaningful than how it was before.

Yoooo, for real?? I just got a bunch of photos prior to the update, and now I wish I had waited. It always struck me as unnatural for Walt, for example, so say "Oh hey kiddo, here's a Walt's photo!"

That has been an issue for as long as photos existed, so it's beyond awesome to see that finally being fixed.

I might be wrong, but the dialogue remains the same if u get their pic by givin em a random gift. I think its only changed with requests and treasure hunts!

That may be it - I got the different dialogue from a villager request, and someone reported the old dialogue from a random gift.

This is such a subtle change but it makes a world of a difference! The "<villager's name> photo" makes receiving the framed photo sound like getting any other commodity in the game. XD

Unfortunately it sounds like the change may be quests only, and the old way still happens for random gifts. Hopefully they will fix it next, though!

You can't just give one fruit. They just decrease the sell value tiers for photos. I updated the guide for 1.4 last night
