I’d love to see a “Welcome Amiibo” style update after 3 years. Of course that would likely require the Switch to still be supported. Imagine if they go the route if the DS/3DS and make everything transferable to the next console...

“Welcome Back!” They unveil a remastered Animal Forest e+ in more languages with modern updates to replace old peripherals (e-reader, GBA) and a new set of Amiibo cards with all of the missing animals from that game. Then have some way when animals move out from e+, they could move to your NH game. Just a crazy idea... It’s a game that has never been localized and is more an upgraded version of the GCN game most people are used to.

Honestly i think the switch, or a similar console (like the ds and 3ds) are gonna be supported for a looong while

I can see the Swith Lite or an upgraded version of it being the new 2DS/3DS. The Switch library by the time Nintendo releases it's next console is going to be insane.

I mean? Didnt they kind of explain this idea prior to the games release?
Nintendo made it clear they were going to do continuous updates and games that get that usually recieve the updates very often. I mean the game came out not even 2 months ago and we have had 2 major holiday updates, multiple patch updates, shrub/art update, may day, and we are also having a wedding season/museum day/etc updates added in.
That's a LOT for just under 2 months.
I'm very excited to see how much theyll add in over the next 3 years c:

Also--- to people wondering what happens after the updates theyll likely do one major final update that unlocks a "final" version of each event and some new furniture. That's just how it is.
And even if they stop regular updates they may always add something new down the line just like how splatoon had a "final" splatfest then ended up having another one anyway :P

I agree. I bought the OG Switch back in 2017. I have played/owned/sold a bunch of games in between. In a span of 3 weeks, I've logged in over 120+ hours in AC. Even though my island is nowhere close to done (20% done and just got terraforming last week) I say I got my $60 dollars worth. Whatever comes after it will be icing on the cake.
