I loved my town so much....but alas it has been erased.

I closed my 3DS XL with the game paused and my fianc? thought he was being helpful by putting it back in its case and back on the shelf and ejected the cartridge! Has anybody else ever faced this kind of ACNL devastation?

i'm a little speechless right now but also a little weirded out about starting all over again.

It shouldn't erase everything surely. You'll lose progress since last save, but it's pretty bad design if it erases save data. I mean, it's not that difficult to accidentally eject the game card. Another reason I go digital I guess.

Ejecting the cartridge can also cause corruption, just an FYI.

Yep all gone and wasn't even turned off, just ejected so heed my warning..it CAN happen and believe me I'm feeling the pain of it D: i had JUST saved but not sure if it was still circling...

thanks everybody, I just feel so bad because I had stitches and had promised him to someone who had him as a dreamie and hes gone too :/ im doing my best to get the dreamies back now.

ive gone to the island today and managed to get cherries and lychees and that's all I usually grow anyways so thank you xxx

That's a little scary that your data can be corrupted that easily...does ACNL autosave or something? (I should probably know that, but I've never quit without saving - guess I will need to at some point so I can meet Mr. Resetti.)

i don't really remember what i was doing at the time because i closed the DS to go answer the door to a courier then forgot to go back to the game as i was too bust checking xmas presents arriving (silly distractive xmas!!)...i think i may have been JUST after a save so i may have closed it just before the save ended but i really cant be sure...

yeah ive noticed a couple of other people its happened to too...my own stupid fault for not making absolute sure of a completed save and shutting down before leaving my DS lying around x

Oh, that's so sad! I'm so lazy that if that happened to me I'd probably not even try to make a new account :C. Like mapleshine mentioned, a lot of people seem to be losing their progress, and I can only hope it doesn't happen to me :/.

it was nice to get the peach as my native fruit rather than the apple...but everything just feels so odd at the moment...the villagers are all strangers...my painstaking paths have all gone and i have no gracies D: waaahh x

haha yeah all my townhall, and retail are all aligned now...the plaza is right down the bottom of the map now whereas it used to be very very top left for me...oh and i have two really long parts to a beach now wheres before it was all pretty much linked with the waterfall riiiight in one corner out of the way!


its taking some getting used to!
