I couldn't be more annoyed at myself right now, I finally unlocked the fairytale bridge so I demolished the bridge directly in front of my house, can't rebuild it because my house is in the way and now the entire flow of my village has been completely thrown off, I'm actually quite upset.

It really does! I had three bridges all placed in a way that allowed easy access to all of my village and now I need to do big loops just to get to re-tail or villagers houses over the other side. Not to mention that the lack of easy access has rendered my original house placement as completely redundant. Ugh. Between this and Erik leaving I really want to restart, but too much time has gone into my village I know I'll end up regretting it and being less invested.

i know that feel duudddeee and yeah it sucks so bad ughh

when i was just new to the game i placed the police station near a bridge (thats placed in a very nice position..) and i decided to change the bridge style so i demolished it but i cant place another bridge bc the police station's nearby :^( i really wanted to restart after that, but i just made it work somehow.. even though the bridge positions in town right now arent as good as before <//3

Aw, that sucks :(
The same thing happened to me, I had a cobble bridge in the perfect spot, and wanted to update it with a fairy tale bridge, but it wouldn't let me. Some of the pwp restrictions are ridiculous:(

Bridge was there. Why can I no put bridge there now? Are you just bridge racist, Isabelle?

I've ultimately decided to move Marshal out for bridge access :( no point in having my dreamies if my town layout is impacting on my enjoyment.

Aww, I'm sorry you have to sacrifice Marshal. Well on the bright side you can experience a new villager and get back the original bridge spot right? c:

I honestly hate how the bridge system works, it makes no sense especially since a villager can move super close to it (like freakin one space away and be totally fine) but if you try and build a bridge super close to a house, god forbid that would work...

I had the same thing happen to me too though so I understand the feel. I wanted to change my bridges since first the brick and fairytale bridges were missing and I needed those to complete getting all the pwps. And second I had finally gotten all of my dreamies and I wanted the town to finally have a uniformed feel to it. However, that didn't happen. The first issue I ran into had to deal with Pekoe, I thought she was far enough away but turns out I was wrong. I had to look up a guide on here to find out why and she was one row too close to the bridges bumper space, and so I had to rebuild the bridge next to her house but vertically in order to get from my house to the train station. It looks nice now but man did I have to out in so much effort to redesign everything to make sense of the placement. The second issue is with Ken who's two spaces away. I gave up on his bridge and thank goodness for that. I would have had to move him out and I did not want to do that so now I have mismatching bridges lol it doesn't look that bad to me, but I wish I could have been able to make it all brick to match my path.

I know how you feel ;__; I went through the exact same thing in my very first town and I was so frustrated I had to learn it the hard way.. I ended up kicking out Biskit cuz his house was in the way.. D:

Really, the bridge thing doesn't make any sense at all. why does the game let a villager move sooo close to the bridge in the first place if it won't even let you replace it (in the exact same dang spot)?? and why does it need so much empty space around it? ugh.

Now I always place PWPs around the spots I want my permanent bridges (in case I want to replace the cobblestone ones later).. So sorry this happened D:

That sucks! ;n; I had no idea that could happen actually, so thanks for the warning. >o< I thought if you replaced it with (almost) exactly the same thing, there was no way it could go wrong, the same way that trees and things work. I'll definitely keep it in mind before I plonk anything in front of a bridge.
I really hope you can make it work though. It sounds like you've invested a huge amount of time and I'd hate to see it all go to waste! Sometimes it makes you rethink your town and it actually ends up better than you'd originally planned, and I hope this is one of those cases!
