Deleting my mayor

im thinking of deleting my mayor in my second town as the house is in an awkward spot. will my whole town get deleted as well if i delete my mayor?

Yeah. You can't just delete the mayor's house. You'd have to recreate the whole town.

You would lose anything you have in that game including villagers as well :-(
Is the spot that bad? Could you make it work?
To be honest I'm not crazy about where my house is. The benefits are that I can't have any neighbours move in right in front or next door to me so it won't ruin anything. But I never paid much attention to location when I first started the game so I'm stuck with what I have now.

Any chance of posting up your town layout maybe? Or telling us why you don't like it? Maybe we could help make suggestions to make it work to save you losing anything else

The only characters you can delete are the side characters. No mayor = no town.

Can't you transfer the mayor to another town or something? No idea how the process works but perhaps you could use it to your own benefit.

It really sucks how houses can't be moved and the town can't be renamed. Even if there's a limit to how frequently it can be done, you should still be able to do it.

crystalmilktea did them not sure if her shop is still running as i havent been checking the museum section for a while. her shop is called ''marshmallow doll art'' if i remember correctly.

anyway, thanks guy for the replies. the spot isnt really that bad so i can work around it. its just that id prefer my house to be in the middle of a field.

You can transfer a side character to be the mayor of an empty town, but you can't transfer the mayor of a town.

I wish we could rename the town too. I mean, I am the mayor so I should have the authority to rename the town even if it costs a lot of bells to do so. I guess AC has always locked in things like character and town names and the face you start off with, so they didn't want to suddenly reverse course and let you change those things. I suppose there could also be issues with online play and dream addresses if town names could be changed. As for the houses, I think it would be good in the next game if you could move a house without deleting a character, but to move a house you'd have to completely destroy it and start over with a tent and pay off loans again to expand it.
