I've noticed some towns have different patterns down on their ground, and i've been wondering how they do that ; A ;
I'm still super noobie to ACNL, so any help would be loved. <3

Also, do people reset their town a lot?

People either make their town paths in Able Sisters or they use QR codes using the sewing machine in Able Sisters which means you can use the paths other people have made.

I reset a lot in the beginning but that was only because I still didn't feel I had found my ~perfect~ town map. When I finally did, I kept it and I don't think I'll ever reset because I've spent so much hard work completing it!

I've spent a lot of time on my current town, its just the villagers are moving in places where i'd rather they wouldnt.

and do you just put them on the ground when you get a path?

Yes, you put them on the ground. You go to the designs part (the pencil), click on the design you'd like, and click display on ground. You can't choose exactly where the design goes (there is a certain way they're laid down around you, but I don't remember it), so keep clicking the display until the designs are where you want, and then erase any possible extra designs laid.
