I'm THINKING about getting one of them. Are they worth it? Do they require experience or does the game have like a little help thing? Should I get Platinum istead?

HG and SS are 110% worth it,Platinum on the other hand,not so much.....

This game is light years ahead of Platinum. It's also a pretty difficult game if you start from scratch without importing any Pokemon from different games. Gold and Silver will always remain the best Pokemon games.

Platinum is boring. HG/SS are better.

I recommend HeartGold and SoulSilver.
Platinum is a disappointment to get after seeing HG/SS.
