As expected, Becky won the Fishing Tourney with her 18.4-inch Horse Mackerel. Huff. Buck came in second and Mitzi third, so I was very happy for my two good friends. I'll do better next month.
Fang arrived today, and his house looks rather lovely in the spot that he picked. I'm not sure if I want to route a path over to him or leave it as it is. I do know I'm going to have to rearrange my breeding hybrids to allow some space around his front door. I can't wait until tomorrow when I can start playing with him!
Today brought an awful lot of new additions to my catalog. Not only were the shops selling things I hadn't seen before, but my villagers were also giving me new stuff. Chief wanted me to run and grab him an orange, for which he gave me a Flower Pop Floor. Buck had me return something to Deirdre for him, and it turned out to be a Misty Tank which she awarded to me for guessing that the contents of the box would be clothing. Later I visited Chief in his home and he asked me to catch a butterfly for his niece. Fortunately that didn't take me two minutes, and he gave me a Dragon Suit in return. So, yeah. About ten items added to my catalog today.
During my early patrol, Deirdre pinged and rushed over to me. I was excited. Finally going to get me a Wisteria Trellis or Bus Stop!
She wanted to move. No. You cannot go anywhere until you suggest a Wisteria Trellis and Bus Stop for me, no matter how badly you want to be in a town that has turf wars.
I found Lolly and talked to her, and she invited me over to her house right then. I much prefer going to my friends' houses immediately instead of setting a time I will most certainly forget about. At Lolly's house, I spoke to her until she told me I could buy anything from her house if I liked it. I tried to get her to sell me her Cactus, since it looks absolutely ridiculous in her room. Unfortunately she was too attached to the thing, so I bought her Lava Lamp instead. The Lava Lamp that I recently gave her, but realized it wasn't a good fit in her house at all. Sigh, we've got a long way to go on your room, Lolly. I don't even know.
Went in to sell my patrol-pickings at Re-Tail and pick up my new Golden piece from Cyrus. With the couple of ore rocks I had this week, I managed to collect enough Gold Nuggets for two new pieces. And, as expected, Cyrus only made me what I already have. At this point, I only need a Golden Closet and Dresser. And Reese at least pays quite well for Golden furniture, so I'll just have to keep trying.
Lastly stopped over at the Roost for my daily shift, and Resetti was sitting in enjoying a cup of coffee. Talking to him for a bit I learned that he prefers Blue Mountain coffee. So I can remember that if he ever comes in.
Whitney was my first customer, and I recalled that she prefers mocha. I gave her a regular amount of milk and two sugars, and again that was a little much. I'll try a little and one next time.
Becky was second, and I didn't believe I had any clues about what she prefers. I gave her a mocha with a little milk and one sugar and that was just what she liked.
Stitches came in next, and I assumed he must have heard about me from Imbri. He ordered a blend with one sugar, like a good little bear. Added a little milk and he was thoroughly impressed. He said he was going to recommend my coffee to everyone in his town, so I expect to see more customers from Hollowyn.
Phyllis was my worker of the day, and I gave her a mocha with little milk and no sugar. Bitter coffee for a bitter pelican? All she said was "Bye." and mumbled something about wanting no milk as she walked out the door.
Now to resume the tour of Storrs's Basketball Development Center. Featured today is the weight room, located in the basement.

And here we are. I don't feel like I exercised much creativity with this room, since I essentially just lined up a bunch of exercise equipment. But that's really all it's supposed to be. Interestingly I had a Lab Floor in here at first, but then I saw a picture of the weight room in the real UConn Development Center and it looked exactly like the Modern Tile, so that's what henceforth went down.

Here's a closeup of the back-left corner, where you can see the Air Conditioners I've lined along the side wall, Ventilation Fans on the back wall, and Water Cooler I decided on at the last minute. I figured that would kind of be essential. Likewise on the right wall I have two Air Conditioners above the Weight Benches so the room can be nice and cool at all times.
Part of me wishes this room was either upstairs or on the second-floor, so the exercise equipment might give me a good boost on my HHA score, but the basement really is the best place for it. Next up will be the trophy room upstairs, which I have just about almost finished. After that, I don't know what I'm going to do. x)
