Not me, but my boyfriend. After talking about it, I think what may have happened is that he saved and quit, but didn't turn off his system or close the software before ejecting the cartridge.
I feel so bad for him because it was his main town and even though I can help him get back most of his items and bells and stuff, he lost all his most loved villagers...Dora, Cube and Phoebe were his favorites. I know he would have rather his new town corrupted...less to lose and all that.
I know if it had been me, that would be enough to make me not play anymore.
Sorry for the rant...just can't believe that happened to him.
Sorry to hear! I hope his okay. Don't give up. That's silly. Some things are just meant to be. Maybe he will create an even better town! Keep encouraging him!
Thanks, I will! I did tell him to not restart a second town for awhile...his second one is still pretty new and that focusing on that one for awhile would give him time to get over what happened. Or at least wouldn't feel like such a chore doing a ton of work in two towns.

Gosh the same thing happened to me once, but miraculously my game data wasn't corrupted. I closed my 3ds while the game was still running (I hadn't saved and quit just left it on stand by) and I accidentally pushed the cartridge and it was ejected... my heart skipped several beats as I was certain that corrupted the game data hahaha
but thankfully when I started up the game again Isabelle only told me I had closed the game without saving, and I only lost the things I had bought and such, nothing too serious.
Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that. At least it gives him an opportunity to start fresh and clean and perhaps find a better map, but man, I might just stop playing if that happened to me too. I wish him good luck on his new town and I hope he's able to get his most beloved villagers back soon!
Thanks guys! I know he isn't one for the whole forums thing, so I told him I'd be on the lookout for anyone trading his fav villagers so he can pick em up instead. Fingers crossed!
I'm sorry to hear that! I can see why he'd want to give up, I'd feel the same thing if I lost my town. The villagers your boyfriend likes best are great so I understand that too. Just try to see if you can get them from someone else. I think Dora and Cube at Tier 5 so not many people advertise for them, but some cyclers might have them and you can post in the Looking For thread.
