DAL Clothing and Nook Miles

Has anyone else heard the rumor of, if you wear DAL clothing when using a Nook Miles ticket your "luck" increases? Rumor has it there is something about it in the data mine. Has any of this been confirmed or have any strand of truth to it?

i tried wearing three DAL items (sleep mask, shirt, slippers) and then clapping at both of the dodos until they did the embarrassed reaction and got three very normal islands LOL

I have heard from multiple sources that, according to in-game code, wearing DAL clothing increases your luck.

Anecdotally, wearing it does seem to give me rarer islands, but I couldn’t confirm anything for sure

I think the Dodo merch increasing your luck has been confirmed by datamines.
I'm gonna be trying it tonight so hopefully I can find a tarantula island.
