Hey guys, I just wanted to hear what you guys had to say about this.
I'm collecting two main sets as of right now - astro, and sleek. I'm one of those type of people who like to have nice homes with matching sets in one room. However, about a week ago, Cyrus woke up and I was wondering if you guys like the customizing furniture feature. I think it's great - however, one thing throws me off completely. I don't like how you can't customize the wallpaper and carpet.
For example, the sleek set - I turned my table red and it looks awesome, but I'm not sure if it will look good with the wallpaper/carpet since I don't have them yet. Does anybody have any experience with customizing furniture AND making the room look cool WITH the wallpaper and carpet?
i customized the whole rococo set into pink. it looks fine with the wall and flooring. i did the same with the alpine set. i love customizing dude, i even got a badge for it.
anyway i think it would look fine? im not sure what the sleek set looks like when customized into red.
I've seen a room with the entire sleek set red with wallpaper and carpet. It looked amazing! I, personally, really like customizing, but mostly the ones I can use designs on. It adds a whole new dimension to interior design. A lot more personality, too.
If you don't like how the set looks after you customize it, you can always turn it back to normal
You also get a nifty badge from Phineas once you customize enough stuff.
100% worth it. Even the game shelf is customizable. I've been changing the modern wood set to simple and it looks great! Highly recommended if you don't like the look of something.
I love customization. It's such a great new addition to AC. You can take the camping item, the stewpot, and turn it from clam chowder into curry! It's like magic.
While I haven't spent that much time with furniture customization, I thought the handful of modified furniture that I have seen looked excellent. I think it's a really awesome feature.
Ya, customization is worth trying. Might take some experimenting to find what works for you, but it's still worth playing around with. Right now I'm working on turning my Astro set to blue/black. I like the colors much more than the default and they have this cool Tron-like look to them.
YES I am addicted to customizing...I have almost gotten all the badges for it, but I do it because I like the way it looks and you can always change it back after he customizes it...just wish it didn't take a half hour for each piece!
I have the full sleek set, and I customized some of the items red, and some I left black. I think it looks great with the wallpaper and carpet. =) No worries there.
I love to customize things! For instance, my latest was the apple TV. Now it's a green apple TV! =D
At first I didn't really like customization, then I saw what you could do with it.
I'm working on making my Rococo set pink and my Alpine set dark wood/leaf.
Food items are extremely fun to make custom too!
I made the game rack black instead of pink, re-colored the super toilet to light blue instead of pink to match the rest of my bathroom, made my claw-foot tub silver to give it that old cast-iron look, among other things. I love customizing stuff.
It's a very awesome feature, some of the customization options could use a bit more variety, I'll admit. I'd love to see the concept expanded in future installments, I know I'd like to be able to customize headgear, wallpaper, etc.
I have the silver badge for customization so I definitely love it! It's one of the best additions to the game, imo. But having to make your own wallpaper and flooring for some sets can be annoying. The Sleek series is one of the few you can re-color and use the set flooring and wallpaper though. :3
