Cycling Villagers

I have been debating whether or not to try Cycling my town for the first time. I received some advice from a friend:

I think this is what Cycling is: Someone will have two separate games of ACNL, one of the game is their real town and the other is their cycling town where they'll cycle around the villagers who shows up in their town! So like they'll time travel back and forth to try to ping any villager and then they'll announce who's up for grabs in their cycling shop, if no one shows interest, they just void the villager and time travel forward to receive a new villager and the cycle continues.

I'm pretty sure some of our members have a cycling shop/knows exactly what it is, so if I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me you guys XD

lurking is basically just letting people know when a certain villager is in boxes or when they appear in your cycling town.

eg. someone lets me lurk for Zucker so that I know when he's in boxes so I can pick him up.

Boxes is when a villager is packing up, and getting ready to leave the town that they used to live in.
You can literally see the boxes in that villagers house, that just means that they are available to be adopted by someone.

Villager Pings are when the villager looks surprised to see you and they wait to talk to you, this could mean that they are asking to move out. You need to reply to pings if you want the villager to stay or be adopted, because if you don't, they'll just leave without telling you.

I think that's pretty much it, there's also reservations but those are optional and pretty simple.

Lurking is when someone wants to be notified when you have a specific villager in town/ when that villager is in boxes. Lurkers usually get the advantage of knowing when their wanted villager is in boxes before others. This is helpful for when a very popular villager is up for grabs.

Boxes is simply when a villager is in boxes and about to move out the next day. That's when they can be invited into another town Hope this helped!

You can get in rhythms for cycling too... you just have to monitor your town for different reasons, mine is overrun with flowers and weeds, but like I don't care! the most annoying thing is getting constantly chewed out by Pete for not emptying all the letters from my mom and Jack lol! so when you get a villager in boxes I TT 1 month, then another 1 month, then 5 days and every single time I get another villager in boxes without losing any villagers unknowingly... but you can't let the day change from the day a villager is in boxes or it disrupts the rhythm and you gotta spend time finding another day when a villager is in boxes! I also need people to help me transfer stuff out of my town to my other towns since I only have 1 3ds! If you have any other questions feel free to PM me!
