Is the only reason to have a cycling town is to go through villagers to find your dreamies and the others you can auction/sell? What would be the pros and cons of having a cycling town for New Leaf?? I'm just wondering if it would be worth the cost of buying another copy of New Leaf in the long run. Thanks:)

Yes, that's pretty much the only purpose (though I suppose you can use your cycling town to get extra bells and items too). I don't think it's worth it unless you're so invested in the game that you really want to cycle your dreamies or sell villagers.

Having an extra copy only has the purpose of getting dreamies, selling off villagers, getting good turnip prices for almost infinite cash flow, and perhaps cycling through the seasons to get a complete encyclopedia. In my opinion, only you can determine if it's worth it to you.

I have an extra copy of the game, and I really like it. I do all of my trades in my extra town, and if a random villager moves in, it's no big deal. I run on the grass, time travel like crazy, adopt villagers, adopt out villagers... extra storage of all of my crap I like to collect. Basically, it's a way to keep your "real" town clean.
