So I finally went out and bought myself a second copy to make a cycling town! =3 (i thought it would be fun to help people get dreamies =3)
I was wondering how much effort do other cyclers put into their cycle town? Like have you paid off your house so you don't have tent, do you try for the 100% approval rating, if not just to get the campsite? Do you buy all of the tools? c= Stuff like that ^-^%

I'm pretty sure you need a house and 100% approval before anyone even moves out.
I have 100% and a house and all the tools, but the only PWP I have is a bridge so I can get round the town easier!

Okie dokie I thought you might need the house and approval! ^-^% Thank you! c=

I've upgraded my house enough to have a second floor. I've got general paths laid down, but I'm planning to delete this town finally when I'm done cycling, so I've stopped putting as much effort into it.

When I had my second town (which I also used for cycling), I didn't put any effort into that town at all. It was simply a smurf town for helping me complete my main town. In my opinion, there's not much point in trying to pretty up your cycling town as you'll be dealing with villagers trashing it anyway.

If you really wanted to make your second town look nice while cycling, then you could plot reset. Although I'd say that's a bad idea, since it'll slow you down a lot and you'd probably get fed up.

I did get some tools, but not really the gold ones. I think I upgraded my tent to a house at the least (can't really remember), and I might have done the approval rating stuff.

I'm currently upgrading my house ^w^ I'm working on building bridges/campsite. My first goal was to get 100% approval x3

I've been collecting clothing (maybe for sales at this forum eventually), all the 'jokes' (so I can do the shuffle in front of guests), cedar saplings and starts (to sell), and have been expanding my house slowly.

As for 'planning,' I have laid down a few tentative paths, two bridges, a fountain in front of Town Hall, and a yellow bench surrounded by holly near the station. I have partially filled up the museum to get the 2F upgrade, and have been buying items in the Nook store so it expands.

I have been considering eventually making my second town 'permanent,' but for now I just like to have a few 'improvements' taking place while largely keeping the town 'wild' and collecting a few items for sales (since I giveaway all villagers, at least for now)
