I recently got a third acnl copy (a digital download) and have two physical copies. One of them is my main town and the other I'm going to reset soon, and then I'll make a new cycle town in one of the free copies. I'm wondering whether it'd be better to keep my main towns on physical cartridges and the cycle town on the downloaded copy, or to use one of my cartridges for the cycle town. Both options have pros and cons and I can't decide. I'm mostly scared of save data corruption if I keep one of my main towns on the digital copy - is it true those corrupt more often than physical ones? If so I'll use my two cartridges for my main towns, but the practicality of playing either game without switching carts is tempting. What should I do?

Just to be safe, you should keep your main town on a physical copy. I'm not sure if they have more of a chance of corrupting than the physical ones.
I've only known one person that's digital copy corrupted.

Yeah, I'd definitely go with physical copies, especially after the incident with all my bro's digital games...

I'm not sure how safe digital downloads are for a main game, but I do want to note that my boyfriend plays on a digital copy and the framerate is...I don't know? Just a teeeeeensy bit choppy looking? Like it's really not as smooth as it plays on a cartridge. Maybe I'm wrong is that's just in his case, but if it's a normal thing with digital downloads I'd rather have my main town on a cartridge and a cycle town on the choppy DS download.
