So I just had this awesome dream where I had a cyborg eye. Pretty vivid to, could feel it, turn it off, and link up to a satellite somehow to see not only where I was but maps of the entire world :-p

Anyway when/if technology gets that far, do you think you would ever want a cybernetic eye, ear, nose, or anything like that?

To use it to enhance and extend lives for the better, yeah. To heal physical disabilities and cure aliments.
Nothing to the point where it's taking away my humanity, that I've become some supercomputer or machine of war.

If it would be like Ghost in the Shell no because then people would get backhacked

Well it wouldn't be replacing your brain or anything. Just a sensory organ, I mean someone with a pacemaker to make up for their nervous system problems isn't worse off. If someone is deaf because of damage to the ear an artificial replacement can send the signals to their neurons. There are legs made for those who have lost them, my line is just on the track of what happens when the technology we use to help people with physical problems becomes greater than what we have by nature?

Given it is purely hypothetical, and why replace an eye when you can have something right over it to enhance your sight in the same way like a computer goggle thing or something.

Pretty much what Andy said. I'd get something like that if it were to make me healthier and it was completely risk free.
