Custom Patterns issue - Help <3

Hey guys !
So, how do you deal with the limitation of Custom patterns ? I have so many ideas but so limited possibilities because of this nonsense limited number.
I see some islands online with a tons of personalized grounds, how did they managed to to do this ? Is it by creating another character on your island ?
What do you recommend ?

I just made the biggest amount of custom designs and it just took away all so much space. It's all paths and borders. I'm happy what I created but man, now I'm in a tough spot. ⚰

I use a lot of different paths, I sacrifice path borders and edges for more variety of custom designs and opt for making them transparent in one corner so I can at least lay them over the in-game paths for a fake edge and border. It's really hard since I would absolutely love to add more detail with borders but I just don't want to give up all my random plant designs and paths!

It's really hard but basically you've got to condense what you really want to use down and sacrifice things you aren't as fussed about using. If you want a few paths with lots of custom bends, turns and borders then that's gonna eat up most of the space

Thanks for the info, that's a shame... I need to throw away some patterns but it's hard. I really don't understand why there is this limitation. Give us at least 100 spots damn...

I like the sound effects a lot too so I use the given ones a lot ☺, but a lot of times I want some more naturals areas or just want to add details to make the whole thing more alive !

The design slots for me are a real hassle. I make flags up in able sisters and I constantly have to delete previous patterns. I’m running out of posting space a little bit, but it’ll be fine for the time being. I really hope that we can get more slots in the future, but if not that’ll be a real shame.

I hope in an update they'll let us at least redeem some nook miles for extra slots like they did with the pocket size. I think a lot of people feel like there's not enough slots! I have none left personally! I did ask my friends because I also thought I could game the system with a second house on my island for more slots but they confirmed you do not get more custom design slots with multiple accounts on an island.

Basically just stick to your islands theme and it shouldn’t be that too much of an issue space wise. If you have a natural themed island, having clovers etc would be an obvious choice but not so much vibrant paths/panels.
My stained glass (from kingdom hearts dive to the heart) takes up 36 slots lmao. I just make due with the minimal spaces I have left but no complaints really. It’s so much better than what we were given in new leaf lmao.

I've used up all 50 slots. It's quite sad, and wish there was more. Maybe someday!

I am more selecting when it comes to custom design. I rarely use another person unless it's too good to ignore. Mainly I want to create my own designs.
