Just wondering how you created your tiers (cliffs)? Do you have all straight edges, curved or a mixture of both? I have a mix of both but I thinking about going to straight edge cliffs because they’re easier to work with.
I have a mix of both as well. Most of my cliff sides are straight, but just about every corner is rounded to give it a more natural look. Can't stand those perfect 90 degree angles lol.
I try to curve most of mine since it just looks nicer imo but if I put a path or custom design on the higher level then I won’t curve it since it messes up the path/design
I mix it up. Sometimes on the same cliff ill even make one side square and the other side curved. I do lean more towards having 'em curved though. Just a biiiit.
I kept almost all of the original cliffs my island came with, I only added or removed a square in a few spots to make room for inclines or to get that extra square to plant a tree. Oh, and I dug out a row of cliff to build the house of the second villager in that nook.
The only 90 degree angles you'll find are around that dug out nook for the villager house as well. The rest all came with curved/rounded edges, and to be honest, I like that better. It looks more natural to me.
A mix. Most of my cliffs are curved and mimic a natural 'hilly' area, but one of my raised neighborhoods has straight edges to look a bit more fabricated and modern.
Definitely prefer curved cliffs overall though. As @tajikey mentioned, they're pleasing to the eye.
My sides are straight, but nearly all of my corners are curved cause it looks much more natural that way. It definitely is a bit inconvenient since you can't put or grow anything on the curved corners but its worth it for the looks
Unlike every person above me, mine are... also curved/mixed. I only have a few right angles and long straight sides in my cliffs where they make sense, because I also prefer them to flow naturally.
most of the time, I make em curved, just because straight edges can sometimes look a little awkward. but I do still have some areas where it's straight, especially in areas where i need symmetry with a lot of object.
