Currently about to murder Redd :)

He shows up after 2 weeks of not being here and has three paintings my museum DOESN'T have and they're fake! Fake famous, detailed, and quaint... and the only real one is an academic painting (AKA the very first painting Redd sells to you). Currently not very happy :/ (also, if anyone wants to come and buy any of these paintings, drop a message below haha)

That’s upsetting. I hate when he shows up with all fakes. Ugh. On another note, my first painting he sold me was the Jolly Painting.

The RNG element of Redd is annoying, but you could say that about 99% of this game. The first painting you get is random too afaik. Mine was the Perfect Painting and I think my friend got the Mystic Statue as his first (not totally sure).

Yeah Redd has been disappointing to say the least... After having a similar experience and rarely seeing him at all, I’ve resolved to just buying the art pieces I need as I see them pop up on the forums.

I will say the fake art/sculptures look MUCH nicer in this game so I’ve found uses for most of them around my island/walls in home.

To be honest with how infrequent redd is with his visits, I gave up on completing the museum like a week after he was released in the update. I much prefer to decorate my island with them anyway, since a lot of the statues look really majestic in this game and very cool. Plus, I feel like i'd almost never go into the museum, so this way they're just on a more public display rather than being cooped up in a dusty old place no one visits.

Redd actually showed up today for me as well, and luck was on my side as he had two real paintings I didn’t have.

I feel your pain though because last time he showed up it was all fakes, so woulda been livid if it was all fakes this time lol.

Ugh, I understand a lot. He didn't show up for literally a month in my mom's island before the update and now he is showing up more often, but no statues! Just paintings! I'm beginning to wonder if he ever sells them... They're gonna be tough to get, especially if most of the time they are fake...

I feel your pain. Redd showed up on my island twice within the first two weeks of the month, and all four paintings were fake both times. Worst member of the family... XD

I must admit one of the few tunes I TT is to farm Redd. It was just too frustrating waiting 6 weeks for him to show up with garbage. Now I buy what I need, move forward a day to collect from my mailbox and then rewind one day to buy from a new inventory.

I got a glowing painting from Redd when he first showed up, but I feel your pain. It's getting harder and harder to get new art because I'm about halfway done and there's always the possibility of fakes.

All of his paintings were fake the last time he dropped by my island, so I know how you feel, haha... Thankfully, I ended up getting 2 legit Motherly statues from my villagers in the mail earlier this week, which at least made up for that.

I farmed redd for hours and kept getting art I already had or fakes so I eventually just gave up and started buying them from people

The villagers visit the museum, though.

Dome of their comments on the artworks are among my favourite in the game...they're genuinely funny.

I particularly enjoy the existential panic triggered by Michelangelo's David.

Whenever that happens I just create a new player or two and buy it through them. He doesn't come by enough for me to let his wares slip through my grasp.
