Ok so I have pretty much my whole town revamped and planned out. I know what to do in each Rooms and know the color scheme , etc. I am open to new ideas, and would love to hear any ideas you guys have (because two heads are better than one)...and I?m sure you guys will have great ideas. A lot of times also when I try to create a room, the items I have in mind don?t match so much or don?t look so great, so I would love any extras and ideas!

So far I completed and revamped my creepy hospital , I?m in the process of doing a funeral home.
For the funeral home it?s pretty complete as well. I have all Rooms done and the last 80% done.
I was wondering though for a funeral home, what idea of rooms do you guys suggest?

For the other houses as well, what type of themed house would you guys like to see?

I'm probably not the most helpful at this, but maybe one of the houses could be an abandoned, run-down, haunted house. You could use things like the old wallpaper and flooring, vintage furniture, maybe some statues or other artwork and some eerie colored lighting.

For the funeral home, the rooms I think you would see are a lobby, the viewing room (with the casket and seats for the mourners), the mortician's room for cleaning and dressing the body, maybe an office...

This is not much, but when I'm going to make a room along a certain theme or image in my mind, I care about the lights/shades the most. The subtle color difference/shading extent of the light makes the room feel pretty different.

Maybe you've already known, but when you use nebula shirt as fabric of the lights, it adds the sensitively purple mood to the room.

I agree! Certain lamp shades give off certain colour tones. If I remember correctly, if you use a lamp with a reddish tint, it will even make the windows from the outside of your house give off a red light!

Gyroids work great in haunted houses so I strongly suggest using them! There's not many songs that work in a haunted house and the ones that are used are pretty played out already. So you can combine different gyroids to create a more unique sound. Or add things like a mop/bucket that I know makes that dripping sound.

Maybe you can use larger items like the large bookshelf to hide certain objects out of view for a jump scare factor? I find the more cluttered and claustrophobic a room is, the scarier it is... because you kinda have to navigate through a maze. Also, if you're okay with designing, you can use QR codes to decorate certain items... eg. make nice furniture like the exotic chair have a moldy cushion cover, or blood stains on a lampshade etc.

While not customizable, the mush lamps give a nice soft blueish glow, while the mush wall lamps add a nice warm orange tint.

Perfect those are some rooms I have installed. I’m glad my views on a funeral room are very similar. I got the lobby and the viewing room. I tried to actually add an embalming room ( but that didn’t really work out for me....would of been nice though).

You’re making me really want to visit your towns ( but I know you don’t have a dream address ) :D
Yep I totally agree! For the funeral house im working on getting purple lighting ( and dim light also since I don’t like powerfully lit rooms). I’m going to try the nebula shirt in the upstairs room ( I’m missing lighting there). I was trying out the scorpio light (but it doesn’t quite look good in the room).

The hospital house I went for the pink lighting.

The mush lamp looks so nice! It never matches in my rooms though since I don’t have foresty rooms *sigh*

You could do a creepy mansion, the kind of place Dracula might live. Basement with the Dirt floor and creepy skeletons climbing out of the floor, Creepy Coffins along the walls, maybe some of the Creepy series headstones, a skeleton figure maybe. And the Creepy Statue of course. The upstairs rooms could be all Gorgeous series and Rococo series style rooms, very Fahncy antiques. Lots of art on the walls.

You could also do a witch's hut, one or two rooms or a whole house. The Creepy Cauldron in one, the green flask, fairy in a bottle, lots of fish and bugs. Mush furniture would work well for a witch.

A less overtly creepy witch's hut could be a gingerbread house, the Sweets exterior and furniture from the Sweets series, plus the chocolate fountain, soft-serve lamp, marshmallow chair, etc. You could leave some hints that not all is as it should be...

I thought of another spooky horror idea, although this one might be too gory or distasteful for you.

You could make a restaurant that serves 'questionable' food items. The main dining rooms wouldn't look too different, but the basement could be a dungeon for holding and slaughtering their prisoners and the kitchen could have subtle touches to hint at the ingredients (not quite sure what those hints would be at the moment, though). I'm thinking Sweeney Todd, but maybe more high class.

This is why I love your sense.
Looking forward to hearing what lamp(s) worked best as dim purple tone when you find it!

Ooo I saw a town with the concept. Don’t remember the name but it was a cannibal town, it was really well put together and I loved it. I don’t think I would be able to pull it off very well in my town though. My town is pretty much based on mild creepy, not horror. More like having an eerie feeling, but not outright terrified. Kind of like the nightmare before Christmas / Coraline. No blood.

Sure thing! I’ve been trying a few. I haven’t been able to customize one with the nebula shirt yet, but I placed a rococo lamp in one room and a lotus lamp in another and I’ve gotton the lighting how I wanted in those two rooms.

I really wanted to make a Dracula lair....I cannot believe how there’s no vampire items in new leaf :(
