Why is it that when you find out that the piece of art you bought from Redd is a fake how come your character never goes back to his tent to confront him? I mean shouldn't your character be upset that he/she keeps getting scammed?!

I dunno, I've never bought fake art from Redd. o.O There are guides for avoiding that you know! :)

Because Animal Crossing logic. You're not upset that you got scammed. You never write to your parents, they write to you and give you presents on Mother's and Father's Day. When you first come to town and get off the train and are confused as to why they think you're the mayor, you never ever tell Isabelle after that confusion that you're not the mayor, instead you just kind of roll with it.
Also, you move out without any money or belongings.

To add to the above, you seem to be in debt before you even know what you're agreeing to... No, Tom Nook, I don't want to live in your shamble of a tent.

Well, we already know that he sells fake art,
and we chose to buy from him anyway,
so we kinda deserve it?
I don't know, but it's always fun to see all the art and try to decide which is authentic

It'd be funny if you could confront him! Unfortunately, there are a lot of frustrating things you can't voice your complaints about, like when villagers move right on your paths or in front of buildings. Well you COULD write a letter but they just usually thank you for writing to them. Doesn't he say there are no refunds? I guess that's the game telling you to live with buyer's remorse.

well, there ARE people out there who DO collect all the fake art, so one COULD hawk it to somebody else for a nice little profit...

OR, if it looks good to you, simply display it in your house... :)

It would be hilarious if you walked in his tent and confronted him about a fake painting. Than Redd is speechless and than runs out of the tent to avoid the cops. Than Booker and Copper chase him down than set fire to his tent and haul Redd off the prison. lmao! Imagine that scene unfolding on your screen!

Sometimes one of my villagers sell me their artwork that they bought from redd and most of the time it's fake :(

I always turn down my villagers' offers to sell me their art, repeatedly in the case of my uchi villager, and she sometimes just gives it to me anyhow- it's always turned out genuine when she's done so. when i've bought though at her discounted price it's sometimes been authentic, and sometimes it's been fake.

Hi Geekalompa,

In case you aren't aware, there are pages you can actually use to avoid that from happening. (http://www.thonky.com/animal-crossing-new-leaf/paintings-works-of-art personally I use that one, it works fantastic for me). Although there may be some paintings that you admire that might not be the real version, they are still nice to me. Sometimes you can get both the fake and real one put together in the room, I think it's really interesting to do it that way. Although there are guides, I believe the designers of AC wanted to give a bit of a challenge to earning all of the artwork. If you mess up and pick the fake one by mistake, it's no big deal because eventually the real one will appear in his shop.

Best of Luck (-:
