Hello there artists on TBT :)

I would really like to invest in a tablet for drawing purposes. I've been recommended to buy a Wacom one by several people, so I think I'll go with this brand, but I don't know which model to take. Some of them are around 50? (~ $65), and I could afford one.
It seems pretty obvious that the more expensive, the better. However, I don't want to throw 300? in a tablet, considering I am a beginner (...and I don't have 300? anyway).

Could someone let me know precisely which model they are using, and what the cost was?
Is it worth it to buy a cheap tablet? Will it still be good?

I know for a fact that a tablet on its own isn't enough for me to make prodigious progress, it's still up to me to use it in a good way, but I really think it will help me get better.

Thank you very much in advance for your advices! n_n

i use a wacom tablet!! this one in particular

it's very simple looking, around 9 1/2 inches wide 7 inches tall. it cost around 40-50 dollars (very cheap) and it still works fine after 4 years. it doesn't have any special buttons like the more expensive ones do but still works like a charm.

wacom is an okay company... the drivers for the program usually uninstall themselves and it's a pain having to reinstall them but other than that it's a very good choice for first timers!! c:

I have the wacom Intuos Pen and Touch Medium Tablet (CTH680). I got it for 160 i think? i bough when it was on sale. it feels really good. The size is good enough for me. The size varies the prize, but if you think you can handle a small one then go for it.

I use a Wacom Bamboo that is almost the same size as BATOCTO's. Several people recommend it because they're cheap and begginner-friendly. Problem is, they're small, so most of the time you'll have to rely on your wrist instead of your arm when you draw, I don't know if that will bother you. Go for it if you want to feel a tablet by yourself and get to know how they work.

I have a Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet which I got it for like $200 AUD lol, I still have it after like 3-4 years.. ? & i love it ajaj
but the drivers sometimes suddenly do uninstall and i have to install again kinda annoying

My first tablet was a Wacom tablet! I love their products.
Now, I've had it for 4 years, Wacom products last a long time. I heard some people have had their tablets for at least +10 years!
Investing in a Wacom Tablet would be your best bet. :>

I currently own a Surface Pro 2!!

i own 2 tablets, one Wacom Bamboo Manga Tablet & one Wacom Fun tablet
i think they still work, but i haven't used either in 1year or so, since i lost the cords, pens and nibs :-;
its a good brand c:

Thank you so much for your answers everyone!!

I think I'll start with a cheap and small one n_n
Another question, though... Are all models adaptable to Windows and Macs? I have a DELL laptop at the moment but I'll eventually get a Mac in the upcoming months (father promised me a new computer for graduating).

warning for macs, i had a mac and then went to a PC and found the drivers for mac are deffffinitely not as well made as the drivers for PC, so it will take some getting used to! could just be my experience but yeah ^^

Ah, good to know, thanks! I'll need some time to adapt to Macs anyways... x)

It works for both Windows and Mac. :> All of their products have worked fine, I have an iMac!!

I had an Intuos3 for like, 6 years. I used it so much it died...

I now have an Intuos4, which cost me about $200 (and also wins for fastest shipping ever, under 12 hours... :O but anyway)

I personally use it all the time and so it was a good investment for me. The Intuos3 however was a gift, and it took me about a year to be fully comfortable drawing with it; it can be very different from drawing with a pen + pencil~

Yaaay! Celebration :D

Think I'll take an Intuos Pen to begin, it's 70€ so I can afford one n_n And that fast shipping though o_o it's impressive!
Don't think I'll get mine before a few days though (being European is a pain sometimes)...

Ordered it!! > w < So excited! Thanks again everyone for your advices ;u;/
I'll be sure to post my ugly drawings on TBT :'D
