CORRUPTION draft one
It was [time OP was posted]. My friend [friend] was ten minutes late. I sighed. She had promised to come and help me landscape Hyrum but, at this rate she wouldn't even be here by the end on the day! I looked up at the tracks. Another train had arrived, but I knew better then to get my hopes up. I waited as calmly as possible.*
To my delight and surprise, a figure did emerge from the station! Although she was a bit far away, I could tell it was [friend]. She was wearing a long, dark red dress and her skin seemed a bit darker. Had she been tanning on the island instead of preparing to come?
"Hey, [friend]!" called Twiggy, a resident of Hyrum, running up to her. "We thought you'd never get- AHH!" The duck suddenly stopped in his tracks as he reached the station. An expression of terror crossed her face. "You... uh... you're... c.. c.." she stuttered between gasps.
"Yes, that's right," she flatly said, reaching into her pockets. "I'm ready for some 'gardening'." She grabbed her prized golden axe.
Twiggy stood still with her mouth wide open for a few seconds, then pretended to laugh. "Ha... uh, that was a funny joke, right? On your dress, that's... it's fake b-"
"Yes, let's begin," [friend] said in a quiet voice. "There's a pile of wood that's been bothering me for a long time. I suppose I should dispose of it now." She paused, then walked a few steps in Twiggy's direction.
Twiggy gasped. "Wait, which wood are you talking about? Is it the campfire wood? That's important, we have to keep it."
"No. It's more of a...twig," she replied. Twiggy could only look at her with a confused expression as [friend] lifted her axe and drove it into the bird's head.
I think it was then that I realized her dress wasn't red. It was covered in blood.
